Re: Dental Bands?

In my experience this is true and false....They will not open if they are brand new with brand new crush spacers. Once you open those blades by playing with them, catching them on stuff etc...with each opening they get easier..and possess less and less friction to hold them closed. Coupled with the ...

Re: Ol'man Multi vision climber (steel)

I've had top of the line Summits, API's as well as several other great brands and now all I own are Ol'Mans. Of them all, the only other stand, I've really liked beside the Ol'man's were the Summit Elite(lightened Viper with Sling seat). For me the net seat and the other flexibility features such as...

Re: swhacker broadheads

They do a great job on deer, and as said will group alongside field points out to 50 yds with no perceptible difference on true arrows. I've found they are lethal on deer and work fantastic and have but one CON..They are a disposable head. Once the head impacts anything harder than a soft foam targe...

Re: Pipsqueak Micro

Just buy a C2 and you'll never have a problem cocking it even in a tree stand. Everyone should have one. Why jeopardize your season trying to cock a bow when your cold and tired and worry about falling or moving around in that stand. And the C2 ensures your arrow is cocked the same way no matter wha...

Re: Micro 315 advice...

Thanks! I have no doubts on the steel-heads. Bob Fromme turned me onto them back in 2000 while shooting compounds with low poundage. He killed a world record Kodiak with a Matthews set at 50# from 45 yds with one. I've taken about 50 animals with them since including a buck at 63 yds from a Diamond ...

Re: Micro 315 advice...

All of your points about BH's beyond the stirrup and a dryfire really got me thinking and I honestly don't need my kid shooting my $10+ arrows. I have some really short broadheads(Rocket Steelheads) that mounted on the Quills are just inside the stirrup. How well will 100 grain FP's fly on the stand...

Re: Micro 315 advice...

I appreciate the advice on the length. We don't walk or stalk with a loaded bow. I keep arrows in a hip quiver and load once in our 2 man stand or blind. I only shoot Mechs. The stock 16.5" Quills and just about every BH I have already is longer than the Stirrup so...again not really a factor for im...

Micro 315 advice...

Couldn't resist how well the Micro 315 fit my 10 year old and after shooting it a few times decided it would be the PERFECT bow for him and although I LOVE my long limb EXO's and Maxpoint, I could see myself using it a lot this year whenever in a blind(which is pretty frequent now with kids and othe...

Re: C2 crank on a Micro 335

I have 3 different cranks, and all 3 of them work on my 315 micro. The original crankaroo for Old exocet stocks works but is sloppy. Both versions of the C2 (one for Exo series as well as the one for Matrix series) work perfectly. Your screw may not be backing out far enough or its going in too deep...

Re: Is the ten point Omni nock safe to shoot?

I've shot them side by side against flat nocks and although I didn't have any issues with them. POI was marginally different than the same arrows with Flat Nocks. IIRC the diff was 2-3"@50yds and the groups were not near as good. FWIW, I came up with the exact same results in a Tenpoint Titan, so it...

Re: In pursuit of quiet...

The reason the old versions were shipped with Dacron(Excel String) was because they didn't come with a Dry Fire Inhibitor(DFI) like the new ones do(aka Guardian). The Dacron string was an effective means of protection when dry-fired thst I personally know of countless occasions where the bow laughed...

Re: In pursuit of quiet...

Put a Dacron string on it. You'll lose 10 fps with the same weight arrow, but it would be a lot quieter with less speed loss than going up in arrow weight enough to make a noticeable difference. IF you are not willing to sacrifice speed at all, then the string stop/airbrake/stirrup route might be yo...

Re: Locking your climber

Don't buy $400 climbers.. I have 4 climbers that I've bought off CL over the years at around $50 each. I lock them with Cable and padlock together on tree and leave them..BUT I also help them decide not to want it by taking the seat. Or ones w/o removable seat I take the cables/bands/chains and hide...

Re: NAP Crossbow Spitfire Opinions.

On new Spitfires that haven't had its blade opened, I'm confident the blades will stay closed on its maiden flight....However....Each time a blade is opened it crushes the dimple inside the "retention shim" this proportionately diminishes its ability to keep the blades closed upon acceleration. The ...

It will add about 15 mins of dusk/dawn ability for the tradeoff of some added weight. I've had several of both and each has its merits depending upon what your needs are.
