Re: New big foot stirrup

Yes. But it will bring the bow closer to you when you're cocking, increasing the cocking effort somewhat. Well, in my case anyway, I'm 6' 7" (and 285 lbs) so the cocking length usually isn't an issue, but getting size 13 insulated pac-type boots into the stirrup is. .... me thinks both Don a...

Re: Bohning Fletchtite Platinum

I told Danny Miller that I was having trouble getting my vanes to stick well with Fletchtite Platinum once, his reply was “ Well how old is your Fletchtite, Pardner?”
I guess Danny had a problem with that once, and it hasn’t been a problem for me since.

Re: changing inserts in zombie slayers

Personally l like the heavy 110 inserts with even a 125 head but at sub 40 yard deer ranges its not a giant bigga deal. Anyway sometimes if you can wack an inch off the end and still have enough its easier to just start new. I never like heating carbon shafts even in the gentilist way. If you have ...

Re: Copperhead Snake Bite

Mike , sure glad you are ok. You take care. Last Sept when I killed that rattler at the lease there were 4-5 forum members that gave me grief for killing it.😳 Even tho I was going to set a stand there and be going in in the dark. To each his own I guess. I kind of like my no shoulders dead. Not my f...

Wow mike ,l have seen a couple in our area this spring. They blend in the leaves pretty good ....very hard to see.
Joe, it always amazes me how well snakes are camo’d. If they don’t move they are really hard to spot. Makes you wonder how many you walk past and never know it

Re: Assassin safety button/lever question

My first Assassin had to go back to Excalibur because the crank rope was showing significant wear and fraying after less than 30 shots (I forget the number of shots where I stopped). They found a burr on the crank spool that was cutting the rope but they just sent me a new bow (yeah - no one has se...

I haven’t heard from Tom, and I haven’t seen a post from him in quite a while. I hope all is well with him and that he can make it to Boofest. It wouldn’t be Boofest without him. He has also been very kind to me and my family. Sure hope he can make it.

.....I also find the machining of the parts to exquisite.....nothing cheap on this bow.....and they even felt bad for us "lefties" by making the charging mechanism ambidextrous. A few things did catch my eye.....In order to properly seat the fastener which holds the riser to the frame you need to u...

Re: Pressure Canning

So to risk sounding like a complete Newb... Does the meat cook from the heat during the canning process? Or is it the salt brine process? Talk to me like I'm 5. I'm very intrigued. Oh, it’s the heat! Major heat and steam pressure! Have done a batch a few years ago. Meat is so tender that if you put...
