Re: guys whats the normal kill time or distance travelled after hits?

After the shot give the animal as much time as you can before taking up the blood trail. Especially a hog...every hog I’ve ever bumped up tracking I never found. :( As everyone has already stated to many variables for a definitive answer. I’ve had bucks drop in sight and tracked one doe about 400yds...

Re: Sighting in new crossbow

Check all the screws on the crossbow also...and I only use one arrow when sighting in.
If all is good may be a busted scope.

Re: OT attn hog hunters

I saw one this year roughly about the same size. Biggest animal I’ve ever seen in the wild.
I was about a mile back in the woods and by myself...he got a pass.
No way I’m trailing that thing alone much less getting it out.

Re: Opinions favorite deer cart

I use a plastic sled I bought from Wally World on line. I think I paid around thirty bucks for it.
I’ve tried other carts but this by far works the best.

Re: Is anyone deer hunting at 100+ yards?

My furtherest shot on an animal is 37yds...and that was a poke for me.
To many things can happen past 40yds that you cannot controll and none of them good.
Good luck :D

Re: Advice on preventing a future miss

Like you I like the idea of a single rectile...KISS rule :D With that being said I have a Hawke scope on my Matrix with the 20/30/40 etc lines on it, but after 15 years of hunting with a crossbow I’m used to it. I killed a doe the early part of our season that was a similar scenario. I had a big pin...

Re: Favorite broadheads?

I've tried many different heads through the years...fixed and expandable. I keep coming back to my spitfires because they just plain work. 8) Shoot to poi of my field tips and do nasty things to critters on impact. I took a doe last week, the spitfire busted through both shoulders and the de...

Re: ouch -- dangit

Good luck on your trip and post pics!! :D Several years ago my back went out two days before opening of Georgia gun season. I managed to hobble a hundred yds off the road and sat down on a pile of dirt on the edge of a swamp. Ten minutes after light I shot a cow horn spike :D Had to call my nephew t...
