Will post up in a new thread once I get done going through the hundreds of videos we ha...

Re: Crossbows of the past post yours here

Nice bow what is the camo pattern. Sweet wolverine pelt did you take him with your Exomax ? I really do not know what the camo pattern was on those older ExoMax bows? The wolverine was shot with a 22 caliber pistol, and at about 3 feet. Had a Carry Permit (Biologist) in those days, and simply happe...

Re: New Matrix 380 in route, question!

I've never done it and see no reason to do it. BTW, as far as gluttony for speed, I think the 380 Matrix will continue to be a great, desirable bow for years to come. Great choice! Totally Concur. And IMHO, Excalibur has made a drastic mistake by discontinuing The Best Bow they ever produced! :wink...

Salmon Candy

The original Gummy Bear Style... A good Buddy called a short spell ago, wondering if he could talk me into running off a batch of salmon candy. Tried to get him to go with the Cranberry Sweet Thia version, but NOPE! HAS to be the maple-honey " Gummy Bear" stuff. Damn! Long process, expensive, and be...

Re: Black Bear as tabel fair

I don't normally target on bears, but I carry a tag each and every year. A Just In Case move usually... This last fall that changed a little for me. Had a huge boar taking out trail cameras, and had enough of him. He eventually did make a mistake - story here: http://www.excaliburcrossbow.com/phpBB2...

Re: How fast are our arrows actually traveling at 100 yards ?

As a helper for some who are trying, or want to shoot tbese distances, a proper built arrow works amazing wonders. And none of the long range arrows weigh less than 400 grs. aYup! And those Most Marvelous Missiles Big John builds are surely up to the task! They are ALL I shoot, for a damn good reas...

Re: How much cutting diameter makes a differnce?

All the data in my brain and past kills is simple. I was using a little boltcutter. .. ( great head) but when l switched to the spitfire and xact cut the blood trails was night n day bigger ....bigger cut more blood .... My experience as well. The Boltcutters did the job, but left little in the way...

Re: How fast are our arrows actually traveling at 100 yards ?

I commonly shoot to 100 yards with my Matrix 380. And it not only groups well at that range, it does bury the 400 grain arrow (dressed) fairly snugly into the target. No idea at all how fast it is going out there, but takes a hell of a lot longer than a second to get there IMHO. I too would be inter...
