Re: Quick fletch

I used the Quick Fletch on 6 arrows(2219 aluminum). Measured exactly the distance from the nock where to slide the fletch to. Had no problems dipping them in boiling water. Looked like they were store bought. Shot them the next day and not a single arrow would hit the bullseye at 20 yards. In fact n...

Re: Check your local Walmart

The Walmart by me quit selling guns/ammunition and archery equipment back during the Sandy Hook school shooting. All they sell is fishing/camping and a few scopes and gun cleaning kits believe it or not. They still sell fishing/hunting licenses though.

Re: Spitfire Performance

I personally prefer shooting an aluminum arrow with a 150grn Boltcutter. Never had any problems with complete pass through. 2 years ago I tried shooting a carbon arrow made by Deer Crossing Archery. Shot a doe from a ground blind broadside at approx. 18yards. Shot about 2" higher than a normal heart...

Re: Which Luemocks

I just purchased the Burt Coyote Excalibur Fire Bolts with the nocks already installed. 3 for just under $60 on ebay. My only complaint is,you have to keep checking the nock to make sure they are turned off. Everytime I turn them off,I would check them several hours later and find out 1 of them was ...

Re: Lectured about energy .....

Should have asked him at what distance he would feel safe if you were to use him for a target...lol! Of course he wouldn't think that would be funny but,you would have proven your point in regards to whether your bow would have sufficient energy to kill a deer. Just curious,is he a hunter? What type...

Re: Few questions from first time crossbow buyer

Most of the crossbow shooters on here shoot carbon arrows. If you're worried about fps and penetration,I would go with an aluminum arrow(2219) with a150 grain boltcutter broadhead. Most of your shots will be under 30/35 yards. Any animal shot at that distance with that set up should be considered de...

Re: Bolt lenght

The standard "Diablo" arrow which comes with the Grizzly is 18" in length. I personally wouldn't go shorter especially when adding a broadhead to it. I like the idea of shooting an aluminum 2219 arrow. I'm trying to talk my nephew into buying aluminum arrows for his Grizzly. He has shot 20" 2219 alu...

Re: Adding weight to a broadhead

I know you want to continue to shoot your choice of broadhead, but try switching to a BoltCutter(150 grain)fixed head or maybe a BoltCutter Expandable head.I'm not sure of the weight on the expandable. Just a suggestion.

Re: Sat on the ground with my ghillie suit on.

Any deer shot and recovered is considered a good deer(maybe even a trophy) depending on the hunt and the hunter. Congrats on a fine deer.

Re: Lesson Learned

My first time using Lumenok arrows, the vane did not sit completely flat on the rail causing the string not to be center on the nock which resulted in a semi dry fire ruining the arrow and vanes.

Re: My homemade vanilla killer recipe

I haven't tried the home made vanilla killer recipe. I have always just used vanilla extract bought at the dollar store for $1 and either poured or sprayed the vanilla on a pumpkin I placed 20 yards from my ground blind. The orange pumpkin acts as a visual attractor while the vanilla scent causes th...

Re: Range Finders

I bought a Simmons LR600 for just under a $100 on sale over 6 years ago added a $15 2 year extended warranty which has long expired. Runs on a 9volt battery. Never had any problems with it and still use it.

Re: Bolts for Grizzly and Axiom

I own an Axiom and shoot 20" arrows. My nephew has the Grizzly and he forgot to bring his 18" arrows and shot my 20" arrows with no problems at a distance of 50 yards when sighting in his scope. As far as shooting 18" arrows out of my Axiom, never tried it and more than likely never will.

Re: Delima

Instead of pulling the arrow back out ruining the fletching, push the arrow completely through the target. The fletching will come out better than pulling it backwards.

Re: Zeroing in Zeiss xb70 on Matrix 380

Reverse the rings(put the back ring on front of scope and put the front ring on back of scope). Tried this one time for me and it worked...don't know why?
