Works great.

When that's not an option I use an ice fishing toboggan with teflon runners.

Re: Any bear hunters? What's your favorite...

I use a Matrix 405 with 19 inch Zombie Slayer bolts and 125 grain fixed blade Montec G5s. Scope wise I use a Vortex Viper XBR. Best of luck on your hunt.

Re: Black Bear as tabel fair

If you get a small or medium sized bear that has not been eating garbage or too much fish it is the best tasting meat there is IMO. We do bear roasts every year at both Thanksgiving and Christmas alongside the turkey and ham. Without exception the bear gets eaten first. The people doing the eating a...

Single Edition Kayla Bow: https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4741/39983686242_2bcd67ee2f_b.jpg Excalibur only made one and auctioned it off to raise money for Kayla's cancer fund raiser. I take it out a few times a year and have managed to kill 4 or 5 deer with it. It actually was my duty bow all last s...

Re: Chinese made broadheads

Sounds very sketchy to me. At the minimum I would proof test them on a pig carcass to see how they hold up on impact and to see what type of wound channel they create. I have a hard time believing the steel quality could be anything but terrible at that price.

Re: How cold is cold for you?

Went out and sat for 4 hours yesterday afternoon. Air temp was -18C (0F) and windchill was supposedly -28C (-18F). Had 6 does come in at 430 pm to the food plot and watched them at 15-20 yards for about 15 minutes. Two or three of them kept their eyes on me at all times and one finally decided to co...

Re: How hot is too hot for you to hunt

It's almost never too hot to hunt in Ontario - deer opens on the 1st of October and some year I have been out in shirt sleeves but has never been too warm. This past year was hot. The third week of September I was up north hunting upland birds and it was hot and humid. Had to pack it in one morning...

Re: How cold is cold for you?

All depends on how my season has gone. If I am sitting on tags with an empty freezer than I will hunt in any weather. If my freezer is half full than my limit is -20C. If the freezer is full than probably I'll just stay home and sit at the wood stove drinking Lagavullin. This guy was about -12C and ...
