Re: Could use your prayers

Very unfortunate, thoughts and prayers for your brother and hopefully they get to the bottom of what happened and that justice is served.

Re: Matrix 355 strikes again

Congrats on the turkey! I have a wing bone call that I bought a long time ago, always intended to use it late in the season but usually get a bird early and don't get to use it, different sound for sure. Funny that you brought that up, I cleaned up a wing from the one I got this year and have the bo...

Development culling!

Just read an article in the Pocono Record about where they are going to cull 150 deer out of the Saw Creek Estate development. It also stated that they had already culled 300 deer out of there on one occasion, and 122 on another. Well, at least I know where all the deer WERE! I had read a similar ar...

Re: Watchin 7 Tick Toters

Same here, had a doe and her 2 fawns just off the yard looking at me a few weeks ago. Had a doe tag, archery and inline ML was open and I could have shot with a rifle because I'm old! They are used to seeing me and are the neighbor deer, they were safe! I would rather see more doe around to make mor...

Re: Which new head to try for 2018?

Go on youtube and watch "buck comes back after being shot". I find that video to be very interesting in regards to how fast a deer can react to the sound of a bow being released. I would bet this has happened on more than one occasion and cause a well aimed shot to hit nowhere near the aiming point,...

Re: Which new head to try for 2018?

My brother wounded 2 at our camp alone and never found he will not wait for broadside shot taking angle shots and hitting bone..MANY of the others wounded deer also with spitfires..brush is so thick here that you do not get open broadside shot at times and most are not like me and let Buck walk if ...

Re: O/t klamath johnboat

Look at weldcraft, not a 10' but they have a 12' with a 42" bottom and a .080 hull that's available with a transom for either a long or short shaft motor. A 12' boat isn't that big, might take a look at that boat, it's "ALMOST" what you want and may be as close as you can get when it comes to the he...

Re: O/t klamath johnboat

OK, can't edit and add to last post! Just threw this out on the forum I mentioned, see what anyone has to say. Was just thinking  , if you are willing to pay for a Klamath, would it be possible for them to put an even heavier bottom on the boat, lets just say .100 ? You could ask them that. I ...

Re: O/t klamath johnboat

I think you are going to have a problem finding a rugged Jon boat that size, I'm sure someone would be willing to make one but it would probably be very expensive! Rockproof boats is a custom builder N of Harrisburg in Marysville, might give them a call but I think they are only interested in buildi...

Re: O/t klamath johnboat

Alumacraft makes a .053 hull also. I would think that going from .053 to .063 isn't going to make much of a difference. I have 2 Tracker GRIZZLY's that are .100 and they can be tore up. You're only talking a little Jon boat, find a good used one on CL for cheap and sell it for scrap when it gets rea...

Re: Is anyone deer hunting at 100+ yards?

Big question is can one actually shoot accurately to do it. Well I will practice targets to see how hard it is to shoot that range anyway, it will be fun and educational. Remember, targets don't move, a game animal may, and then there may also be wind deflection. I would wait until they come out wi...

Re: questions about a new scope

For those who have posted here who are unhappy with their XB 30's and would prefer a Leupold Crossbones I have a very nice one I'll trade you for that "crappy old Hawke XB30 PRO." I have 2 Leupold spotting scopes, a set of Gold Ring 8x42 binos. and 8 rifles set up with VX II & lll scopes fro...
