I marinated the breast strips overnite in ranch dressing then wrapped em up in thick amish pepper bacon and deep fried em. ....best tasting turkey l ever shot by far.
Will have to remember this way to do turkey, as sounds very good.

Re: Vortex Razor reflex sight

Just make sure the front lens does not give off a reflection as it will spook game. I had one some years back, and could not figure out why I was spooking turkeys, untill I had my wife hold the shotgun with sight, and I went out from 20 to 40 yds. away and nothing but a reflection off the sight. Got...

Re: Matrix 355 strikes again

Congratulation on your spring gobbler. I have a wing bone turkey call that someone made for me, but never tried it my self. They do make some nice yelps.

Re: Hangin out in the turkey blind on a rainy morning

Had a wet one also today here above Hbg. The gobblers still seem to be moving, and have yet to here any hen talk. Now my hunting buddy's grandson put the hammer down on one this morning, after missing one first thing. But his grandfather was not with him on the hunt, as he was in the hospital the pa...

Re: Turkey day

Very foggy up here in central Pa. till 9:30 or so before it left. Had lone hen around 7 am. and at 11:45 3 Jakes came to check out the decoys. No early gobbling, later on ground prior to fog leaving. I think because they kept loosing their ladies.

Re: Salt licks

Here is the reason I stated that using plain white salt is a wast of time as it does no good for your deer, but it is a attractant and will give you pictures of deer, but here is why that's about all the good it does.........this quote is from the Whitetail Hunting Network------- Too much salt can a...

Re: Salt licks

we've used mineral - white etc, with good results. the best I've found is apple blks - same 50lbers -way cheaper than little blocks and easy to split this year I'm going with this - as we'll be traveling and I want to still provide for elk deer on my property http://www.sweetpro.com/specialty-elk.h...

Re: Salt licks

What are your thoughts on using salt licks/calcium blocks, for Deer? What kind/type do you use, block or granules? Do you use them year round, (at your stand/in your hunting area) or just in the fall? :eusa-think: If going to go to the trouble of putting something out for your deer, then use someth...
