Re: Hog Hunt = A Blast!

Well done. I have to admit that when you described shooting that pig between the eyes using an arrow, I sort of cringed at first. Then I remembered watching farmers kill a pig before butchering. They only used a 22 rimfire, most likely a "short" rather than a "long rifle" cartridge. It would be one ...

Re: Salmon Candy

I read what you had to say.
I looked at your pictures.
Man, you are so mean.
Now, I've got to wipe drool off my keyboard.

No, no, bring him back to Canada. He could run in the next Federal election as a Liberal candidate.

Do you (or anyone else) remember the fellow who made flint broadheads? Wouldn't that be a hoot to mount one of them on a wooden shaft? With real feather fletching?

Re: Is anyone out there using WOOD ARROWS ?

Johnny It's too bad that you had your feelings apparently hurt on this forum. We are friendly here, and helpful to strangers. I guess most of us are attracted to the most modern components in archery. It's too bad you hadn't been on here some years back. There was a fellow who made his own flint bro...

Re: Ice fishing with Flies!

That's thinking "outside the box". Good for you. The most extreme "outside the box" thinking I've ever heard of was by one of our local characters. He used (with some success) 220 Connibear traps with kernel corn on the trigger....ice fishing. It wasn't legal here, but what lawmaker would even dream...

Labrador Retriever For Sale

Let's be clear now, this isn't connected with Big John's puppy bloodline. A guy is driving around the back woods of Ontario and he sees a sign in front of a house: 'Talking Dog For Sale.' He rings the bell and the owner appears and tells him the dog is in the backyard. The guy goes into the backyard...

Re: weight and flight

what weight insert? Some thoughts.......... lighted nocks are cool to see fly, but if you are hunting on the ground you can still lose arrows even with the nocks. Then you just lost more $$. If hunting from a tree, then no need as the arrow will be stuck in the ground. As a generalization, that's t...

Motion Heat--Product Review

I suffer from cold hands. It's an old age, circulation issue I expect. A few minutes of wrestling with my snow blower, and they are COLD.I considered buying Down filled gloves. I considered buying alpaca wool gloves. Whatever the price, I was going to buy some relief. However, I had my doubts that b...

I liked this thread.

The question was sensibly stated. The answer was supported with data. The commentary was civil.

Re: TRIGGERTECH

Nope. Changing the trigger won't alter the decibel count when you fire your bow. Won't change the noise level on your 30-06 either, if you change triggers.

The noise you hear isn't coming from your trigger.

Re: Dr Stirrup New quiver

I already said I wanted one, and that was before we had a picture posted. Then I realized that my broadheads are 1&1/2" inch diameter....Montec Striker Magnum....and I sure hope that Gaston's quiver can accommodate this larger broadhead. I just spoke with Gaston. He just loaded up a 3 arrow quiver ...
