Re: Been shooting in between snow and rain

I've found that pulling my knee up towards my chest and leaning back in the treestand I can easily cock my 350se by holding string Cocker handles against my chest and pushing out with my leg. Leg muscles have much more usable strength than back

Re: Good BH Target

While driving home from work one day I saw a black square along the road with a sign saying free. Sure enough it was a block target with 4 field point holes in it. A nice addition to my bag target and mackensies at the perfect price.

Re: Nice buck walks

With 51 years of deer hunting I enjoy watching deer up close as much as shooting them. I'm still learning their behavior and still have 2 months to take him if nothing better appears.

Nice buck walks

Last Friday I hunted my friends farm and saw a coyote, spike buck and doe all too far to shoot. A half-hour before dark a doe stepped out 10 yards to my left and walked out to 20 yards and stopped then a 2nd and a 3rd did the same. Heard more footsteps and a nice 10pt steps out and joined them. With...

350se gets it done

Went out sunday am and heard wings flapping about 7:30, turned out to be goose hunters. Geese flew between me and them and they opened up. As geese fell, I heard pellets falling around me. Just as I was about to get down before I got shot I saw an 8pt buck coming my way. He came into the woods and I...

Re: My meat grinder Sucks!

I use a Hobart 3 speed grinder mixer like the ones behind the deli counter. Old cast iron model. Very heavy but could grind an elephant with it. Got it for free from a hotel getting a new one.

Re: Pets that watch tv

I have a great picture of my cat watching a hockey game but I doubt I can figure out how to post it. After reading all the problems people have posting. I once tried to load photos from my phone to the computer and ended up loading about 30 thousand pictures from who knows where.

Re: Mock Scrapes

It may sound strange but we urinate in the scrapes. After watching a program where a man poured buck scent in one spot ammonia in another and human urine in a third a buck came and buried his nose in the human scent. I harvested a nice ten point buck using this method

Re: Slug Gun Question-UPDATE

My first 870 is 50 years old;never a problem. My second one shoots 3 inch shells and has failed to eject shells mutiple times, once costing me a huge buck. Using the 2and3/4 shells it always ejects. Savage bolt action seems to have amazing accuracy. Hunter on tv dropped buck at 200 yards. If I was i...
