GoPro camera mount? Done with Video

Has anyone come up with a way to mount a GoPro to the Excalibur? I see there are some mounts that come with it, but checking if anyone has come up with something better.
I am leaning towards a scope based mount so I can swap from bow to gun, but pretty much open to anything.

If your not already using it for a range finder, what about the X-bow mount they sell for a range finder, I am sure it would be easy to mount your GP to that.



Would love to get a GP myself, I keep hoping I will find a super special on them.

I have the rangefinder mount, and I have been known to use it, but for my rangefinder. Which eliminates using the center mounted quiver bracket too. The only time I take my quiver off the bow is when I have the rangefinder mounted, so anything at that level above the rail isn't going to work for me.
I like the idea of keeping the camera in line with the arrow flight, so I may have to explore some options for mounting it under the bow.

I had a hard time finding one in general, everyone was sold out. Had to drive to London today in a snowstorm to get the one I got. The price was pretty consistent no matter where I went, and I imagine if they keep selling the way they are there won't be any sales in the near future. For your sake, I hope I am wrong though, that was a lot of money to spend on a little camera.
I got the Hero2, after messing around with it I think I could have got away with the first one and saved 100+ dollars. Pretty sure I got suckered in because the 2nd version can be run from a smart phone, and I am a sucker for stuff like that, even though I'll never use it.
It's been here less than 12 hours, and thanks to my son it has been on a helicopter, stuck to the side of my service truck, kite, remote controlled nitro car and the dogs back.

May have to run to the local fabricator and see if he can whip a bracket that will use the old quiver holes on the bottom of the rail. That won't do much for swapping it to a gun, but it's a start.

What is mounted up there in your picture? Looks like a MP3 player. I am going to need a cup holder on the other side just to keep things balanced.

david it is just a small plate that fits between your plastic retainer clip and your top mount it will be ambidextrous and have 3 holes and a thumb screw that goes up into the camera .on my utube you will see a vid i did this fall where i shot a deer with my compound .i made a mount so when i sit in my treestand i pop the quiver off .pull my camera out of my bag and mount it in the quiver bracket. as long as you follow the deer with your bow hand your on the deer .i need to practice if you watch the video after the shot i move to watch the deer react instead of consecrating on the video. just and old habit that i need to change
my camera is not the quality you bought its a ultra flip hd it only videos 30 minutes

The GoPro doesn't have the typical camera mount screw, it uses these little pads (about 1" by 2"), they stick on and stay, the camera does a quick release from that thing. Here you can see two of them beside a jointed mount, the red is the bottom of a third one.
After looking at my bow I think I could get away with a small plate that could sit under one side of the 2 main uprights of the quiver mount (screw head level), just big enough to stick one of these things on.
I am thinking that what you are describing is just what I need, minus the screw.

I spotted that adapter at Best Buy today when I got the camera, definitely an option. I would like to stick with as few parts as I can for this project though, and I think I can skip that whole screw thing. I think..

the mount i made was by hand for my compound bow but i've talked to a guy that thinks he may be able to cut pieces with a cnc router out of delrin if i do the auto can program witch is the problem my guy is just to busy
