NO TAG AGAIN !!!!!

Post by the elf » Sat Aug 08, 2015 8:43 am

Once again I did not get an antlerless tag. (63A)
Looks like I will be spending a lot of hours and days looking for something with horns on our 90 acres !
Hope my Son gets a tag !
I am really----P####D OFF.

It seems like you over there went from boom to bust .
Not very many years ago there was an abundance of tags to be had . Two bad winters for us dropped the allotments for us .

Yeah seems to be the same case here as draws for 73 are usually 100%.I did'nt get one but my daughter and father both did, so we are covered. :)

I guess I finally have something to be happy about living in western NY. I can legally shoot 5 deer this season. No lottery just buy the tags. Only one has to be a buck. The most I have gotten is 2. My brother usually gets 3. I need to get out in the woods more. Can't shoot what you don't see.

Come hunt down here, I get all the doe tags I want to buy @$12 a pop until sold out. In my southern farmland area they hardly ever sell out. I was mad this year because my bonus buck tag I got last year is not valid this year like in years past! So I can shoot only one buck with archery tag.

Just to rub it in----I received my deer tag in the mail today ! At least I will have 3 months to try and find something with horns over 3 inches long.
If my old eyes can see them they have to be over 3 inches.

none for me in 65 for two years now. so far 1 out of three, still waiting to hear from my father-in-law....... he didn't want to call and see over the weekend. the one doe tag we have is my friends son and he just started hunting last year and has yet to take a deer, that doe tag is for him only I told everybody else. unless he takes a buck at some point then it's fair game.......

Got mine for 92B. I was one of 2% that did not get one last season.

However I will not archery hunt in Ontario with it. I will save it for our black powder deer hunt. With no extra tags in Ontario it makes you plan your hunts a bit different than most years.

On the bright side I get to bow hunt in the great state of Michigan this season.. ;)

The success rate for 2014 was 94%.
I was 1 of the 6% who were not drawn.
This according to the regs I have.
That was the second year for me and now I don't bother at all.

BTW:
The doe tag application for end of june has no bearing on the application for the black powder tag [controlled hunt].
The draw is for bows only in wmu 92.

Right out of the hunting guide.
****Hunters who are applying to the controlled deer hunt draw do not have to purchase a deer licence tag prior to applying to the draw.****

I'm with you on the out of province for hunting.
Though I'm saving up for a trip down to OHIO for the next season.

Last year was the first year in over 40 years I never got an anterless tag in 82B. Got one this year for antlerless. This area is down to 83%. Last year I believe was 93%. Before that we were always 100%. CHEERS!
