Question on limb straps

Post by xcaliber » Sun Mar 04, 2018 5:09 pm

On my new 380 Matrix there is a gap under the limb straps, looks to be about .06" or so. There are spacers on the screws to get this gap so it intentional. This does not seem to be present at all on my Matrix 330. Does anyone know the details for this?

Thanks,
Dan

That's the updated, new and improved design. I've quizzed the engineers at Excalibur with a raised eyebrow and they swear that it lowers the number of limb incidents. They've been like that for nearly(?) a year now.

They do look odd with the space but l guess the engineering dept. Knows more than us. I just wonder lf the limbs would be ok if a string were to break would they travel too far ? A few years back before using our forum string makers strings l had a two week old factory string break on a matrix 330 (not a dry fire either) my limb straps bent with the old system limbs were fine.l just wonder the new ones reasons and now the limbs can travel even further forward ln this case of the string breaking would it be better or worse ?

interesting they made those spacers longer. i remember the old shoulder bolts that limited torque on the recoil plates. the allen heads were very prone to stripping on those . i always liked the full thread screws snugged up and then backed off a little. always thought too tight choking limbs off at the recoil plates wasnt a good thing for any model.

The replacement riser and limbs I got for my 310 has the new style longer ones as well. The 330 riser and limbs I purchased did not come with any hardware :?: So I called Danny Miller and he sent me the old style ones free. Sure wish they would have included the new hardware when I purchased them, but I ain't gonna lose any sleep over it.
