I stay away from them because of all the lymph nodes in the neck. I take the meat, but make sure to not get any lymph nodes. CWD is in the spine and lymph nodes. We don't have it here but I try to be safe.

Here's some food for thought..........

http://www.tnoutdoorsnews.com/home/new-non-fatal-test-for-cwd-is-venison-safe-to-eat

The article mentions that they use lymph nodes from the throat for the test...............and that Michigan was the latest state to find CWD in it's wild herd....although this was in 2016.

Hey every one thank you for the input I have decided to give a roast a shot .
I have taken care to locate and make sure I have no glands in the roast the heads up is appreciated great information.
I went youtube and found some cooking tips sounds like a nice way to deal with the neck.

I will have more neck roast for sure in the future thanks for feed back i am glad I tried it !

Yep, I've made a few of them in the slow cooker before, and they have always turned out excellent! Good to hear you are happy with yours! :)
