It's been awhile. But I've made a few wing bone calls over the years.
Hen wing bones seem to work best.
After learning the skill to use the wing bone. I would just use a small plastic straw to make the yelps.
Can just about use almost any narrow tube. Take a ball point pen apart and use that too.

Re: Maine Turkey season opens early
Yep. This is what an email I got today from Maine Inland fish and wildlife said.
No registering of harvested turkeys at game stations this season. They will provide a questioner at the end of the season to report your harvest.
Can't wait to chase them long beards!

Re: New Member from Maine
Hey from southern Maine (Wells). I go through Greenville on my way up ta camp in North East Carry at the top of Moosehead lake. Was planning a fly fishing trip for landlock salmon and brookies just a little north of you on the Roach river in a month or so. But the state is still shut down for now. S...

Re: To pee or not to pee
I use to be very careful about not peeing in the woods. I would carry a bottle. And even came up with an idea for a biodegradable pouch to pee into. But after having to pee really bad one day. I just let it go right off the stand. Strangely enough a deer came walking by a few minutes later. It never...

Re: Saddle Hunting
Here's a longtime saddle hunter from my state, interesting. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=4FFDUq_bh6A# Good choice on the tethered! I've been doing a bit of research on saddle hunting. But after figuring the cost and the long wait for delivery. And then other climbing gear like steps or climbing ro...

Re: Maine is finally giving in!!!!
I have a disability permit for Maine and I have a disability permit in Mass and with my permit for Maine it stated that I needed only to purchase the Crossbow lic, maybe because I have had the Mass permit since 2003 . Have you gotten a Maine crossbow permit since you got your disability permit in M...

Re: Maine is finally giving in!!!!
.... what if you have hunted w a XB for years but your state does not distinguish between archery or CB in that all you apply for is a Bow license? Anthony😀 Good Question! Here in Texas you don't need a permit. And I've hunted with an XB for years, would Maine honor that as legal? All you need is a...

Re: Maine is finally giving in!!!!
Maine law says you have to take both archery hunter safety course. And crossbow hunting safety course to get crossbow hunting permit. Unless you can show proof of having hunted with a crossbow in maine or any other state after 1979. So if you're non resident and have a crossbow hunting permit from a...

Re: Maine is finally giving in!!!!
Ya saahh!
We can use crossbow with extra purchase of a crossbow permit here in Maine.
Its $25. (Not too expensive.)
They even raised fall turkey harvest to 5 birds this year.

Re: Need ACP trigger feedback
My micro eats strings polished latches .A/M serving it's just that way. Usually the matrix bows at better is Angle majesty "just that way" though? Is there a better serving material that could last longer? This isn't something we should just except as the norm for serving wear either. But...

Re: Need ACP trigger feedback
Agree with all above. But polished latch or not A custom string with a angel majesty or the like serving will definitely help you. latches have been polished multiple times. I even used up to 12000 grit emery cloth. It's a custom string made by boo. So it is a well made string. And as I've said bef...

its eating the serving.nchunterkw wrote: ↑Fri Aug 09, 2019 12:51 pmAre your servings separating or being torn? If separating it's probably the serving and not rough latches. If it's tearing then the latches need a polish job.
I have polished the latches multiple times already.

Re: Need ACP trigger feedback
Nice write up! I followed along when you wrote it a few months back. Been waiting to see what the serving wear is after a few hundred shots though. Has anyone done any serious shooting with hundreds of arrows being shot ? How does serving look then? Don't get me wrong. I like to tinker with my bow. ...

Re: Arrow fish tailing pictures on page 2
Is that a left/right movement? I wanted to post a video but could not. So took pictures of the two movements. It does look that way on bottom picture to me also Don. Top looks like it was up and down. A left/right movement would tell me to check my tiller. Can tiller even be adjusted on an Excalibu...

Need ACP trigger feedback
I've been considering getting an ACP trigger for my bulldog 380. I have had many issues with the claws of the stock trigger eating up string servings like candy given to a 5 year old. I've sent the bow back to Excalibur and they replaced the trigger. It breaks a lot nicer now. And I polished the cla...
