Re: Help newbie here! Problem when shooting Exocet crossbow
Is the hold down spring tight enough to keep the arrow from slipping forward? If you are new at this it is easy to bend the hold down spring when cocking the crossbow. Bob Bob - How would I know this? Or how would I know if bent it? It seems to be fine from what I can tell? https://i.postimg.cc/YS6...

Help newbie here! Problem when shooting Exocet crossbow
Hi folks, I just was at the range on Friday to help sight in my cross bow. I was going to practice this afternoon with a target and sight it in with some broadheads and then this happened....LOL.... The bow is cocking fine, but when I put the arrow in and fire it, it makes this wonky/gong noise, the...

Re: Rangefinder or No Rangefinder
I would not hunt without one. But I also hunt with a rifle a fair bit, so prefer a GOOD one that has setting for bow, programmable rifle, and the ARC system. In my case that is the Bushnell G Force 1300 ARC. It has been well beaten as all my equipment does. :wtf: And has survived several years now ...

Re: Rangefinder or No Rangefinder
Buy a rangefinder and use it to teach yourself how to estimate yardage. Estimate the yardage by eye and verify it with the rangefinder. Eventually your estimates will get better. You have to keep in mind that deer will not always show up where you have pre ranged and expect them to. Bob Shooting 3 ...

Re: Rangefinder or No Rangefinder
If you can walk off distances from your blind, or treestand and mark them, or memorize the distances, you can get by without one. I pack one, and shoot in all directions marking my distances mentally, then I put it on a hanger. The older I get, the harder it seems to be to judge distances accuratel...

thought I would get opinions as I was sighting in my bow today and the guy asked about a rangefinder. I was like say what? Any rate, starting out, what do you recommend? Would like to hear opinions and/or recommendations on what you like and why.

Robert

Re: Excalibur purchase!! Next steps? :)
Get yourself a comfortable chair that puts you at the correct height at the Ground Blind's shooting window. You should also have something to rest the crossbow on to steady it. I use an old camera tripod I modified. Bill @ko4nrbs - I missed this one.....:) Good thought. I thought about using a came...
