My butt has officially been kicked...

Post by VixChix »

I feel I need to post there here on the forum. It might be cathartic - I can only hope so.

My butt was kicked at today's 3D shoot in Oxford today, by none other than our forum's own xbowkidd/Rob. Rob also beat out a pile of other xbow shooters (including TPM) and took 3rd place in xbow. Rob shot very well in spite of the hot, muggy weather and rushing to beat the clock and to get to the airport to pick up a family member.

CONGRATS ROB!!!

(Just don't let it happen again... )

Good stuff! Was a great day for a shoot today. SLight brease, warm temps and plenty O sunshine. I think the targets were broken. Every now and then, a 12 spot would move out of the way on me

Say ... just what do y'all call "hot and muggy" up there, anyway?

What temp and what humidity? :?:

High 20's -30. 78% humidity according to the stats, but we were in muddy, swamping sections that were far more humid. It also rained yesterday so we felt the moisture from ground.

Rob did kick butt today. Some tough shots especially on the back 20. There were a lot of people there today, 98 competitors in total, 12 in the crossbow class. I had a great morning but my game fell apart in the afternoon. You really do have to get in the groove and focus. We had our 4 year-old along today. Some how walking down the trail and hearing, "I got to go pee!" and the dreaded, "I got to go poop!" wasn't too conducive with focusing on my shooting. Rob would have kicked my butt anyway with that 27 point lead he had at the end of the day.
Great to see dutchhunter, Munch and Korrey99 today! Would've loved to have more time to chat with you guys but I'm sure we'll meet again. Thanks Munch for bringing that .22. It was a treat to be able to actually handle that piece of history. :D Desertrat, if I knew you were there would have loved to have said "hi". Next time.

I think we did cross paths a few times. Were u the one who's son had to "find his dad" and show him the way out of the bush? if so, that was me joking about it all day.

I am sort of playing connect the faces to the dots after the shoot. I know who Dutch is only because I was one target in front of him all morning and saw his bow and he explained the accessories to me. Kinda like what Excal has going on with the cheekpiece and stock lengthener (not an official term).

Was afun shoot. I missed the first part of the season due to an injury but hopefully, between work and family, can get out to a few more. My daughters are getting to that age where I can start to bring them out to the shorter shoots. Hopefully have a couple of little shooters down the road.
