first hunt this season and first time using semen scent.
i picked a random spot near a deer trail in some new bush and called in a massive doe with a can call and buck roar yesterday. she came within 13-14 yards of the stand tasting the air with her nose held high just loving the synthetic buck semen i squirted in a tree, but she had no buck on her tail. i've never seen a deer, especially a doe, trying to find the source of the smell so bad as she was walking beside the small tree licking the air and stretching to try and lick the branches. i'd compare it to a dog trying to get a treat of the counter
it was nearly dark so i spooked her to have some fun and managed to call her back 2 more times before it was dark.
is it normal for a doe to be so interested in the smell of buck semen?
Now that you bring this up. If you could find dog-in-heat scent somewhere, you could take it to the dog park, indiscreetly spray it around, and sit back with a cold beer and watch the show. Might be a good way to spend a Saturday afternoon after season goes out.
