Great hunting tool

Post by hankenhunter »

Check out windy.com. I've been playing with it all weekend and it's amazingly accurate and easy to use. Makes approaching your blind or hunting area much easier. You won't be disappointed.

That's very neat. It would be nice for those on flatter lands with consistent prevailing winds. Where I hunt it actually shows the wind making a full 360 degree swing in a 24 hour period. Most days aren't that bad though. But the mountains can play heck with the winds. I've watched the smoke from my Thermacell go in opposite directions multiple times on the same sit. I've practically given up. :problem: On the bright side, at some point during every hunt I'll have the wind right.

It does work for contoured areas also. My son was testing it out on a mountain on a Vancouver Island and he said it was very accurate. Works great in the foot hills in my area.
