I was looking at a way to save a bit of weight by reducing the amount of stuff to take to the woods and I came up with combining using my rope cocking aid as a sling on the bow. It was time to redo the 550 cord on my rope cocking aid, so I left both ends a bit long after where the knots stop the handles and was able to tie in sling swivels.
Here is what it looks like when being used for cocking the bow.

The handles do slip down to the bottom, although you can position them near the top to help spread out the weight of the bow on your shoulder so it doesn't cut in.

Re: Making it harder to forget your rope cocking aid
Great idea and well executed!
You do realize the clips should engage from above the string, not from below (as seen in 1st photo).

Re: Making it harder to forget your rope cocking aid
I agree that this was a good idea but i disagree that the hooks are not attached properly because the way Mike has them in the pic there is greater visibility to ensure they are properly engaged as well as if there is a failure of a hook it will most likely happen near the open part which should propel the hook downward from momentum instead of upward toward your face.
