Hey there Xbow!!! Just spotted your trophy. Good going!!! I'm guessing that you shot that doe in the woods, not in your backyard

I hadn't visited the "Trophy Room" before tonight, I just figured it was full of 160 class bucks. Given the fine folks on this forum, I should not have been surprised to find that this thread is actually full of all your personal trophies, not limited to monster bucks
So here's my addition to this thread, my first of this season, taken on Nov. 1. I think I'll always remember this one as my "2-shot doe". Yes, I missed clean with my first shot
, but I made my 2nd shot count

I have been fighting a very bad cold and could not stop coughing, but on Sunday I felt better and went out in the afternoon. About 3:30 I heard a noise to my left that sounded like a buck destroying a small tree but then it stopped and figured he went off to look for the ladies. About five minutes later he rushed out of the woods and stopped 20 yards in from of my stand. When he looked the other way I picked up my crossbow but I must have made a noise because he turned his head and look me right in the eyes. I have been experimenting with a canopy that prevents me from being silhouetted against the sky, darkens the hunter, and stops light rain. It must have worked because after what seem like forever he looked that other way and that gave me my shot. Double lung with a very good blood trail. The blood trail disappeared into the mud when he ran into a newly cultivated field but then I just looked for the big brown blob and there he was waiting form me to get my tractor and pick him up.
