You may want to concider a range finder with "zip and scan" features. I have the Pro Legend. It cost a bit more but I think it's worth it.

This helps cut out reading small branches and "see" through rain. It also gives various ranges while scanning the terrain. :wink:

I have had a Ruger 44 mag carbine for about 20 years now. Got my first deer with it. Great little bush gun that just sits nice and cumfortable in your hand while trudging through the bush. :wink:
