Re: Alternatives for arrows should SHTF

Yes, we have just about the strictest gun control anywhere in the world. Problem we have is our politicians want to ban everything, it only takes one idiot and then things start to get banned. The other thing is nobody sticks together, vertical bow shooters hate crossbows, shotgun shooters and rifle...

Re: custom arrows question

I would recommend the plastic nocks. Black Eagle aluminium nocks are the hardest available aircraft grade 7075T6 and are way harder than the Excalibur rail. If you shoot a lot they really wear the rail down. The aluminium used is also way harder than the nocks used in Excaliburs arrows. I always use...

Re: SEW, please read this and give me your input

It is spooky to me that this subject has come up at this time, I will try to explain why. I have been shooting helical for a while now as they give much better broadhead control. However, last week I was reading about how much helical slows down an arrow due to the spinning using up the energy in th...

Re: Bulldog 400 & Matrix 380 600 grain + bolts

When you go really heavy it is not as straight forward as taking a set amount of fps off for a certain amount of weight, it only works as a rough guide. As the weight increases the initial ratio of let's say 1 fps for every 3grains changes and may end up at 1 fps for every 8 grains. I did have lots ...

Re: Boltcutter Review .. your opinion

I don't know about how they perform hunting with them. But, I have tested many different broadheads over the years and can tell you that I have not found a better flying fixed blade head than the boltcutter and it is also razor sharp. There are other fixed blade heads that can match its accuracy, bu...

Re: Your favorite.

Bulldog 400, it is the nearest bow to my requirements, reliability, accuracy, speed, Power and dimensions. Not perfect, nothing is, however, out of the 15 Excalibur bows I own the Bulldog is not my favourite. That goes to the M405, but seen as we are talking about only one I have to go Bulldog as I ...

Re: killer instinct furious 370 frt

IMHO it was a mistake for Excalibur not to go with the TriggerTech at least on their top of the range bows. If you want something to be the best it has to have the best components.

Re: Heavy Arrow

If you put a proposal in what you maybe could do is put a proposal on a maximum weight of the bolt as well. At least then a user would not be able to shoot a real fast bow with very heavy bolts as they would be limited to 300fps with a certain weight. I am will you on this and will vote with your pr...

Re: Heavy Arrow

Hi Paul, On your post you are not clear if you want to make heavy bolts or if you are having issues at your club with non crossbow users causing problems? If it is the later, I know where you are coming from as I have the same issues at our club. Most of my club is made up of longbow and recurve bow...

Re: Those with both the 380 and 400-Arra Query

I also own the M380, M405, BD400 and agree with everything Steve has said. For me it makes more sense to stick with 18inch zombies and shoot the same bolt off all three bows rather than having different bolts for different bows. There is no doubt the BD400 would be a good fit with 19 -20 inch bolts....

Steve, am I reading this correctly that the bow only got 3fps when changing from 399g to 353g? I cannot remember exactly, but, I think I got 17fps difference when I did similar weights.

Re: Bulldog 400 Chronograph Results

First of all I would like to apologise to Peter for making a rash statement about thinking most Bulldogs would be slow. I don't have any data to back that up. I would also like to thank Peter for having our backs when it comes to issues. That's what makes Excalibur the best. Anyway, I think most of ...

Re: Bulldog 400 Chronograph Results

Boomer, Mine was tested with a 350 grain, the exact combination of arrow and point Excalibur used. The speed is relative anyway, when you put the M380 through the chronograph it should always be slower than a Bulldog using the same arrows no matter the weight. But other people are reporting that the...

Re: Bulldog 400 Chronograph Results

The problem is speed does matter to some and people do get disappointed when a bow does not make the speed. It would be far better to call a bow a Bulldog 380 and all the bows do 390+ rather than the other way around. The vast majority of chronographs are very accurate and as long as the arrow weigh...
