The noise is created by excess energy that isn't transferred to the arrow. Best way to silence any bow, vertical or crossbow, is by increasing arrow weight within acceptable limits.
Totally agree.

What are you using for a nock?
There is no nock. It is cut straight off then heat treated to harden for strength.

Re: Is anyone out there using WOOD ARROWS ?

Set of Malaysian Red Hardwood arrows. Weight 569 to 571 grains. Notice the larger front end, which I call "big foot". Helps add weight forward, great for superior penetration through bone. Front end creates a big hole and the rest of the shaft glides through with little contact. These arro...

Re: New Handcocking device

I talked to one of the engineers that helped design the new handcocking device today. He told me it was mainly designed for the Micro series crossbows. He also told me the difference between the 2:1 and 3:1 was that it was definitely easier with the 3:1 but hardly noticeable with the distance you ha...

Re: Another look at 100 yard shooting

You are also correct , most on this forum are probably crossbow only hunters but some also hunt with vertical bows . Most people including myself just consider it all bowhunting . Therefore , in my eyes we are all bowhunters . So to come on an open forum and imply that others shouldn't even call th...

Re: Another look at 100 yard shooting

Better read my comment again... I know perfectly well who they are. Tal...

Re: Is anyone out there using WOOD ARROWS ?

I dont dought that you know what your doing with the wood arrows l respect that l just dont see the point. If you were shooting a replica "traditional" period corect crossbow l could see it as people do with traditional vertical bows but even though it can be done why would you take a unn...

Re: Is anyone out there using WOOD ARROWS ?

Okay, I'm just going to say it and not dance around the truth. Shooting wooden shafts from our modern crossbows is foolish. Period! You can't test the structural integrity of the wooden arrows and you're playing Russian roulette by using them. I have no understanding why you would even consider and...
