Re: First bear, first excalibur hunt

Thanks guys, I love his face too so I went with a half mount. I'll get him back in 2 years, my taxi is a popular guy lol. The bear bug is in me for sure, next time it will be with my daughter. Forgot to mention it was an 8 yard shot, he popped up at 10 yards, scared the crap out of me, what a rush

First bear, first excalibur hunt

[img][http://photobucket.com/user/joshuasgreeno/media/20180905_184524_zpsrocwkygt.jpg.html/img] Got my first bear on my first hunt with the 350. Want to thank vixenmaster for the string and normus for the slicktrick blades and everyone here for your help. He was small but I had a lesson in judging a...

Re: What broadhead are you using

I also wanted to add my homemade target is a 4'x4' target with a duramesh photo of a 250lb bear, I'm practicing the middle of the middle shot placement, I wanted the big target hopefully to pass up the little ones and not get big eyes so to speak when one walks in, I'd hate to shoot a cub after an 8...

Re: What broadhead are you using

I agree, my main goal is a humane harvest and a fairly mature bear, I hope I can calm down to judge size. I will not go out without a test I am limited on budget and supplies so I was just asking before I start testing so on understand what I'm getting into. I have 6 bolts (diablos) and 2 have screw...

Re: What broadhead are you using

Ok, so I ordered some slick tricks 150grn. They'll be here tomorrow, I've been shooting 150gn excalibur branded field points. Are they gonna hit close to the fields? I just don't want to use up blades and vanes if they pass through my homemade for my black bear season in three weeks. We got alot of ...

Quick fletch

So I have a few bolts with messed up vanes. I have Diablo with the flat knocks. I was thinking about quick fletch, and holy hell what ones? Blazer, quick spin, hell fire, hunter and then there's realtree. Any advise on these? I'm guessing realtree is extra for the name I'm not gonna pay for. Also do...

Re: What is wrong with these people?

I just started watching The Hunting Public as another mentioned and I like those guys. Bear Horizon is another favorite but they got the money for outfitted hunts and don't deny it. But yeah most of the shows suck for deer

You weren't kidding, guy said he was gonna start a fight and the rehtoric is amazing. How many of these guys were at the compound meetings in the 70s? From what I hear(wasn't born yet) it was the same argument.

Re: WI xbow season

He owns Buck Rub outfitters and claims to not be under sold on crossbows. Maybe someone better than I could come up with a petition of sorts to have the manufactures of crossbows he sells withdrawn from his store. Hope Excalibur is watching this thread, Excalibur and Bowtech are listed on top of his...
