I have experienced the phenomenon LV2HNT expressed above. I hunt below a large wooded hill/ridge which happens to be their bedding area. I hunt off a food plot along the base of the hill. When the wind comes from the general direction of the hill, a wind curl/eddy occurs at the bottom, pulling the w...

FYI - I have had the dovetail mounts loosen up on the my D. Miller setup several times. That caused the quiver to become unstable.
I think the smallest amount of locktight is needed in that area to keep things snug.

Thanks!
It was fun watching her before the shot. She stood on only her hind legs to reach up to a tree limb(food? scent??). Too Cool! She also chased a basket 8-point and another doe with a couple fawns out of the area.
She had some "rank"!

First Excalibur Deer

I harvested a nice opening day doe taken from a distance of 12 yards. The slick trick broadhead resulted in a 45 yard track. Sweet Crossbow! This hunt will hopefully be one of many memorable experiences. The hunt continues - where I hunt I can take 3 more bonus does plus a buck. Thanks forum members...

Bought one.

Bought one on sale at Cabelas for 229.00 US + tax. I liked the clarity, magnification factor, and the feel in my hand. The RX-II cost ~ $50.00 more for some additional features I don't need i.e. TBR. I don't gun hunt in the badlands or mountain areas where that feature would be most useful. I haven'...

Boo:

My brother is a Hoyt man so I asked him what he has, as he is very happy with his bow. He shoots a Hoyt Razortec.

Good Hunting!

After 2 dry fires, (dumb!!) I saw one of the limbs had a splinter along the widest outside edge about 1/16 inch wide at it's widest point (the corner, not all the way through) and 2 1/2 inches long. I took a dremel tool and terminated the splinter, then contoured it with a sanding bit. I've shot it ...

Side wind vs 4-blade BH

I am interested to know if any of you have compared the drift effect on an arrow with a side wind (at 30-40 yds), comparing a 3-blade broadhead with a 4-blade BH. Is there a measurable differance? I am considering a change from the WASP Boss to the popular Slick Trick. Thanks!

New Excoet 200 serving separation problem

I just received my new Exocet 200, and was sighting it in this weekend. Even after waxing/rubbing the serving every 5 shots I have 3 separation locations. Two line up with the outside edges of the string catch, (when it is cocked) the third is located about 1/4" out where the rope cocking hook ...
