Re: First Buck & Kill ever!!!

Congrats on a nice buck and welcome to the club. I wish I could experience what you did again. It was long ago and I still remember it clearly. I envy you. Enjoy your tasties. Just out of curiosity, what are those green vines that your buck crashed into? Hank Thanks Hank!! Does that mean you don't ...

First Buck & Kill ever!!!

Thanks to everyone that provided guidance/advice, etc. I got my first kill at the end of the season and wow this boy was heavy!!! Nobody told me how much of a workout it is....ha ha. Any way, I now know I need to invest in a good knife or knives for gutting/skinning. Robert https://i.postimg.cc/P5p1...

First Kill ever and at the end of hunting season

Well, I got my first kill ever with the Excal crossbow. Finally got it at the end of the season here in GA. Damn this guy was heavy. Nobody told me to be prepared for the weight. Lesson learned when gutting/skinning, I need to invest in a good knife. :) https://i.postimg.cc/P5p1dFrK/IMG-2214.jpg htt...

Re: Trophy Ridge XV530iR has arrived.... Wow !

Dumb question. What is the difference between this and the 525? Stepless illumination and metal screw in caps on the 530 are the most obvious differences. It also weighs 3 ozs more. I greatly prefer my 530s to my 525. X2 @bcxbow & @robertyb - What is the reason you all prefer the 530 to the 525...

Re: Trophy Ridge XV530iR has arrived.... Wow !

X2 I feel the same about my XB1 vs my XB30 so this makes complete sense. How's the glass compare? MY XB1 is not clear to the edge like the XB30 About the same Keith, all Hawke did was slightly change the reticle and print a different name on them. Billy when you say about the same, you mean compari...

Re: Trophy Ridge XV530iR has arrived.... Wow !

Dumb question. What is the difference between this and the 525? the smart-assed answer would be 5, but i would guess the 525 is a knock off of this: https://us.hawkeoptics.com/xb1-15-5x32-sr.html and the 530 is a knock off of this: https://us.hawkeoptics.com/xb30-pro-1-5x24-sr.html I actually would...

Re: New nikon bolt p3 replacement

I've got this scope on my 2 Scorpyds: Trophy Ridge SpeedComp XV530IR Got it for $114 off Ebay last year, looks like they are $125 now. I understand they are made by Hawke. Really like them. I haven't been able to see images of what the glass or crosshairs look like. I haven't seen any on ...

Re: New nikon bolt p3 replacement

I am not tryin to steer anyone one way or the other. I had one n liked it but in darker woods/timber in early mornin n dusk the circles get lost before legal light is done. Look though one to ck it out I am not taking it like that at all. :) I am just asking my questions. :) What scope or scopes do...

Re: New nikon bolt p3 replacement

I'm not a good guy to ask about scopes. I have fairly limited experience with different brands. I have astigmatism and RGP contact lenses so the reticle to me is either there or not. So from past experience, I stay away from Leupold and Bushnell. Burris is my go to scope, but they have no love for ...
