Re: Airbrakes and Accuracy Issues! Help!!!

Mine have the gap when uncocked. I think you need longer strap bolts, or spacers. Something is not right. You did go in the right direction, but not enough I think. You’re right. When I study pictures of bows with air brakes, there is a noticeable gap. I need longer spacers. The bolts have plenty o...

Re: Airbrakes and Accuracy Issues! Help!!!

Boy, don’t call me an expert. When I put air brakes on my bow, the pads were literally smashed against the limbs while uncocked and cocked. I didn’t like that so I backed off the bolts and adjusted them so that the pads were equal distance from the limbs when cocked. I had no idea if it was a funct...

Re: Nikon prostaff p3 scope

I love mine because it is simple and bombproof. Soooo clear and crisp. I have mine set up so that the reticles march out 30, 40, 50, 60, 70 +- a yard of two. The thick thin transition on the vertical post is right on at 90 yards. Right now, I have the Tact Zone on my bow so the illuminated reticle w...

Re: Started bear hunting again

I certainly hope you get yer yogi, hope the damage it does is minimal til killed. Thanks. I don’t want to lose another goat. (Btw. We are replacing windows for aesthetic reasons, not because the bear breaks them. I only mentioned it as the project kept me from preparing for Bear season. Actually......

Started bear hunting again

My problem bear didn’t show up this spring but, sure enough, he is back this fall. He is hitting my garbage 3 times a week like he usually does in the fall. Bear season started Sunday. My head just hasn’t been in the game. I’ve spent the past 4 weekends replacing all the windows in my house includin...

Re: Fun with the 'hot' BD400 yesterday. ...until my screws loosened up

So, I call no roasting allowed on father’s day. A couple months ago, I got so sick of those little screws getting loose that actually glued the scope rail to the trigger assembly. I wanted to use epoxy but I had this glue called GoTo Glue by locktite. Its thick and looks like an epoxy when set up bu...

Re: What REDS for the G340?

Wow Ferguson! You got a G340? That looks like a great bow! Congrats. I think that or the BD330 would be perfect bows. I’m new to the crossbow game but I love the matrix line. I’m glad I have a matrix. Frankly, I don’t think i’d Like to cock a micro as often as I shoot.

Re: Limbs

Just speaking for myself, I am looking forward to purchasing something from Danny Miller again just for the chance to talk to him again. He is very knowlegeable and a hoot to talk to. When I dryfired my bow 2 weeks after getting it, Dawn at Excalibur was very helpful to send me new limbs. I bought s...

Re: dead zone scope on griz2

I’d say test it out. The dials go lower than the 300 setting. My sons’ grizzlies have dead zones on them and the speed dial is set at about 300 shooting 412 grains. The crosshairs are set for 30 yard zero which you would think would require a slower speed setting. Hitting dead on at 30, 40, 50, 60, ...

Re: Multigenerational twist

Boo, Montana Mark, Y’all are both WRONG! Marry a flight attendant. Before the “pond” was filled in, she would have to leave on a trip. Problem solved! Amateurs! My wife takes trips all the time. My wife and I both do our own thing and rarely together. We’re both fine with it. I once went on a men’s...

Re: Multigenerational twist

Boy now I’m really getting off topic. The pond story is actually very funny. At our house, we don’t talk about “the pond”. I actually refer to it as “my midlife crisis”. I have a handyman named Ali (I consider him a friend/almost brother) who helps me and my dad with projects. While fixing up my ho...

Re: Multigenerational twist

Besides. I love my little place in the country. It reminds me of the pictures I’ve seen of the old family farm in Sweden. My house is small and simple with board batten sides. I have a little barn and numerous sheds with a flag pole in the middle. I’ve even painted it up to look like the old Swedish...

Re: Multigenerational twist

Thanks for all the support guys. Yesterday was a rough day. It’s better today. It’s hard to let go. He’s growing into a fine man. I’m proud of him. Good idea XBOIGO on the military. I almost did the army scholarship and chickened out. I joined the Air Force reserves later while in training for some ...
