:D Thanks Buckslayer.

Buckeye----I already knew that the CX bolts weigh 13.1 grains per inch, I was basically asking how much weight the inserts and vanes add.

A bullet travels (depending on a what deer cartridge) approx 2300 to 3200fps. the bullet will hit that deer before the animal hears the report from the rifle at 1-500yards therefore the animal will never jump or jerk as a result of the noise a gun makes. (unless you miss) An arrow or bolt travels a...

CX Crossbolt Weight

I plan to shoot the 20" Carbon Express crossbolts from my Emax. . . .5" vanes, flat nocks, 100 grain points. Does anyone know how much these will weigh, and what velocity they will get with the exomax? Should I maybe go with the 22" Carbon Express bolts for hunting?

Sure, I understand what you mean TYE. But people take 500 yard shots on game with a rifle, which is considered very long range even for a firearm. Why is there a taboo about taking longer range shots with a crossbow, say in the neighborhood of fifty yards :?:

Bragging time: Longest hunting shot

What's the longest hunting shot anybody on here has made with their Excal? Forty yards? Fifty yards?

Nice quote from the Red Green Show, Hi5
I've had the SQL Error Thing happen to me twice so far, once just an hour ago. I thought it just meant the forum had the max number of people logged on. But then again, I'm no computer genius.

TCarson---Get the Phoenix. It's made to last, and it's probably the most popular Excal bow anyway. Also good for any animal up to black bear.

I think I understand what you're saying Beaver  . . . .Could you send me a personal message to tell me which one gained 1 fps? I'll guard the secret with my life  .

PS: No problem if you don't think it would be appropriate, just the curiousity is killing me.

In the arrow performance section of the excal website, the series 22 bolts are listed as 360 grains with 100 grain points :?: That was a surprise to me, I thought they were 350.

:D Thanks for the info A.W.. . . .I ask because I once purchased a $200 dollar fly rod that I assumed was made locally, then I turned the thing over and there was a sticker that said "Made in Korea". Don't you just hate that? :?

Welcome to the forum TCarson :D From what I can see, excal bows are about the highest quality, longest lasting, and most accurate out there. I would recommend the Phoenix or the Exocet 200. . . .great bows. The power of the Exomax might not be necessary, although that's the bow I'm buying. If you de...
