durability of bumper pads

my first set of bumper pads are still going strong after 400+ shots. I also
have a Boo string with whiskers. It is sure quieter. Probably allowed me
to make up for a mistake on a first shot and get a second that got the
buck.

Boo string still going strong

Just took a 5 point buck with my 410th shot using a Boo excel 36 strand & halo served string. BTW my STS rubber stoppers are still good after the same number of shots. I also have whiskers on my string. At a recent 3D shoot people were noticing how quiet the phoenix was with this set up. I recom...

Digger's Death

I would like to add my condolences and prayers to the many already
expressed on this site. He will be greatly missed. My only direct dealing
with him was to mediate the sale of an excalibur wolverine.

I have a phoenix armed with a Boo string (excel ) and an STS system. I am well over 200 shots at this point and the stoppers are still in great shape. I have not had to saw off the rods or twist the strings much. Boo stated he had used a set of stoppers over 300 times. I will see if I can top that n...

Sonic heads

Have taken deer with sonic heads the last 2 years. Both were complete pass-throughs with excellent and short blood trails. I have found them to be very accurate. When they pass through animals and hit rocks they do bend and chip, but they have done their job and the blades are replaceable. This year...

Backstops

As a backstop in addition to actual targets I use an old carpet slung over a rope between two trees. Between the two layers of carpet I have wedged a large styrofoam panel. In front we have a traditional archery butt with a ledge on which sits a rinehart 18 in one target. below it hangs a homemade b...

The phoenix

Have used my phoenix to harvest deer the past two years, and that was
before I had a Boo string and an STS system! Even took a quartering
forward deer on an angle you are not supposed to shoot at!! A very
accurate bow shooting at the right speed and for the right price!

Boo's string

I'm also using the Flemish twist Excel with served whiskers coupled with an STS dampener system. By the way I am well over 100 shots with the first set of rubber bumpers.

Spitfires

I shot one deer with the original spitfire. Took out the ribs on both sides. Excellent blood trail. The Innerloc mechanical has gotten excellent reviews on the BT review found on the archer's edge web site. Excalibur is now using them. So if I go back to mechanicals I would probably try the Innerloc...
