Saxman:
Do these blazer vanes increase the velocity of the bolt? And by how
much? And by the way shouldn't we all by now be calling them arrows?
Bolts were small metal projectiles used in the middle ages.

Further info re Maxima Hunter cross bolt
Many thanks for the helpful replies. I also found out from the manufacturer that the Maxima hunter X-bolt only comes with half-moon
nocks. So that pretty well rules them out for me as I shoot an excalibur
phoenix bow. (unless of course one wanted to fool around shaving them
down to flat!)

I googled Ted Nugent and the Spring Bear Hunt and found this item. So I stand corrected. But then why boycott Northern Ontario? This only makes the situation worse Hunters angry with Ontario decision to ban bear hunt Last Updated: Friday, November 10, 2000 | 11:53 PM ET CBC News Deep beneath the sno...

Spring Bear Hunt
Ted Nugent: wasn't he the one who got the spring bear hunt canceled
here in Ontario? We are still hurting from this in Northern Ontario.
Other provinces have kept their hunts, so why shouldn't we have one?

Winter storage of excalibur crossbows
Many thanks to all for sharing their experience in this matter. I think
I will use my gun cabinet instead of a bow case for now.

Winter storage of excalibur crossbows
In his book: Crossbow Hunting by William Hovey Smith (which by the way has Bill T. on the cover) he states that "crossbows should not be stored in in foam or cloth cases as the moisture held by these cases will tend to rust any ferrous components and oxidize aluminum, particularly if any residu...

Further thought about lipsyl
Have been looking for years for a good anti-fogging agent. Have recently tried the lipsyl. It seems to work pretty well. I got the idea from the Old Hunter safety manual for Ontario. It suggested using wax on the glasses and then buffing the lenses to a high gloss. They never said what kind of wax t...

Rail lub
Aspire 30: Horton's rail lub works well for me, but is expensive. In the past others on this site have mentioned using sewing machine oil, or turtle wax. I might try Lipsyl from the dollar store as it's made of beeswax plus other ingredients. As others have said, Excalibur recommends using the strin...

A.W I tried to follow your instructions and got to my post. Noticed that some of the entries had img in their post and some didn't. I couldn't find one on mine so I tried a new post and was able to put the address for my picture on site. Clicking on it will get you the picture, but how do I find the...

The shot you are not supposed to take!
First excalibur deer. Taken Nov. 13, 2006, 4 pm. 20 yard shot, 30 yard recovery. Phoenix bow, varizone scope, 20" Gold tip lazer II bolt tipped with a 125 grain sonic head. This button buck came in quartering forward to my right. I waited but it never turned broadside. Decided to shoot from my ...
