Re: Shortages
I needed a circular saw for a project and the stores were out around here. Talked to a manager of a local hardware store and he said they're are out of a lot of different things because of gaps in the supply chain. He also told me they had been out of pressure treated lumber since the shutdown start...

Re: Are they ready?
My wife says she likes Anthony's idea better than the 3d target. If you dont hear from me again you'll know they shoot as good as I do.
Honestly though I have been wanting a 3d target for a while. Looks like now I can get one. "Dear we must get one of these...for the children".

Are they ready?
I was wondering what kind of accuracy you would like to see from a new crossbow hunter before you send them out deer hunting. We are set up to hunt our own back forty this year with 20-30 yard shots being the norm. Most hunts will be from blinds with a good rest.
Thanks

Re: Axe project finished
I took off the rubber grips and the Excalibur and Axe stickers. I am sure they could do it for you but ask first. It was pretty easy. Like taking molding off I used a very thin 1/2" wide putty knife worked it in under the piece carefully then twisted the blade back and forth gently. A screwdriv...

Re: Axe project finished
I took a close up of the cocking groove wear. I am sure that I will put some scratches and dings in it over time but that is just the the nature of the beast.[url=https://postimages.org/] https://i.postimg.cc/k4nC7k3H/20200709-142645.jpg I like the idea of a flat finish with soft touch but in the en...

Re: Axe project finished
I have to give credit to Wyverns Creations for the idea, they offer a Micro dipped just like this. I saw it a while ago and really liked the look of it. Also have to thank my lovely wife and children who paid for this as a Father's Day gift. As far as durability I have already worn some off in the c...

Axe project finished
I tried to hydrodip my Axe twice. I could not get it perfect so I found a hydrodipper here in Maine to do it for me. Sent with a note that I wanted a light colored wood with high gloss clear. Got it back today after 10 days. I am very impressed with the finished project. I put on a set of flat black...

Re: O/T Independence Day
Happy Independence Day everyone. Hoping we all get to grill a little or do some fishing today. Maybe ride the bike or ATV, take out the boat, do something to celebrate our freedom. Most importantly smile and laugh, enjoy some time with friends and family.

Re: Thorn broadhead
It opened fine on the turkey I shot. I tested them to see if they would open before I hunted with them. I shot them through a piece of fabric taped to my 18 in 1 target. They opened every time. Make sure you get the right shear pins for your setup and you should be good.

Re: Thorn broadhead
I used the Thorn broadheads in my old compound crossbow because it would not group with fixed blades. They fly perfectly. I got a turkey with one but nothing larger. I only use them for turkey now and fixed blades for everything else. I tried the original HPX and Rift 2.2".

Had Lumenoks recommended to me last time they had a sale. Work great and the batteries last a long time. A great product.

I agree with Boo. Keep em all and buy a Suppresor 400. That is what he meant right?

Re: Vortex crossfire II crossbow scope initial impressions
I never remember to turn of the illumination. I eventually went with a non-illuminated scope because that what I have essentially when the battery goes dead.
I wish there was a discreet light on the outside to remind me. Could call it an "idiot" light.
