My Mystery Ranch PIntler does a good job for me. Lots of room for stuff and the crossbow straps to the pack with three straps. Biggest issue is remembering that I have those limbs sticking out when walking through the bush.

Re: Danielle is killing me!
Camera Boxes lag bolted to a tree with a lock will work, but up here, elk and bears slobber all over the screen in the box, so last year I started putting them up the tree 8-10' and use a section of my tree climbing steps to access the camera. I then pile brush and stuff under the tree to keep the o...

Re: Common sense scents?
I don't use any scents while sitting in the ground blind, hunt the wind is our only common sense. I do make home made scrapes by using tarsal glands and my own urine. I find the licking branch and scrape down to the ground and add a little of my urine. I have tested it against Tinks and Code blue an...

I sit in a ground blind in November with temps down to -30 C. Cabelas EW bottoms Icebreaker 260 weight top Med weight wool socks as you don't want to restrict your blood flow in feet! I run a couple SC and use only the custom settings and only use video. They take really good HD video. I run them at 10 sec and 2 minutes between videos. If you go to photos, leave it at 8mp or the lowest setting. You get more pictures at a lower MP and you will not be able to tell the difference. R...

Re: Shooting Stick Types
if in a ground blind, I use a Caldwell Deadshot field pod Magnum. I can just leave the crossbow in the field pod all day while I sit and rest, waiting for a deer. Then I can lean forward, move the crossbow to my shoulder and shoot. Packs easy, sets up easy and in the cold (-25) makes no noise. I hav...

Re: Game Camera confusion
I am slowly replacing my older bushnells and spypoints with Brownings. I have been running cameras since 2006, when I built my first homebrew with a sony digital camera. I have tried most types and from my experience, Bushnell and Browning are the best bang for your $$$. Some of the Stealthcams are ...

Re: Did you use a bait pile to harvest your deer in 2016
We can bait here in BC for everything but bears and waterfowl. I use barley mixed with pelleted alfalfa or cubed alfalfa/timothy mix. Had lots of small bucks, but nothing I wanted to squeeze the trigger on. Lots of big boys on camera, but either nocturnal or when I was working. Apples are not someth...

Re: Crossbow scope what one
I don't want to hijack the OP's thread, but will try to jump on this post with the same question, however, I have a more limited amount of choices here in Canada. I have the Matrix 350LE with the "deadzone" scope and although it is fine so far and works well, I am slowly looking to upgrade...

Re: Tree stand vs blind
I have 4 ground blinds of different males from Ameristrp and Barronett, each set u depending on location and wind. I also have a ladder stand and tree stand that I now only use for elk and moose. For deer, it is strictly ground blinds as there is something about sitting in a nice comfy chair, have a...

Re: Missing something???
Update Electronic scale was FUBAR....went to my old RCBS scale and redid everything. The 125gr FP the local shop sold me were actually 100's, so went and got some 125's. They had the 100 and 125's mixed up, so we weight them all to make sure. Re did my bolts and they now weight 378 gr with the 125's...

Missing something???
Newby here with my first question on my crossbow. So I have tuned and sighted in my crossbow with the bolt set up I am shooting. Excalibur Matrix 350LE, have not set up the Chrony yet, will some time, but not really worried about speed, more about accuracy as I will be limited to 40y max until I sho...

New member with a few questions
Hi Everyone I live in BC on Vancouver Island. I work in the forest Industry and guide moose, bear and goat hunters in the fall. I primarily hunt deer and moose with the odd big bear. I do not hunt from a tree stand, I enjoy still hunting and spot and stalk. I have Essential Tremour, a disorder that ...
