Re: 2024 Season
2023 was worst season in a looong time. Only got two little ones. But, better than expected since I wasn't sure of getting out at all. One of my favorite "retreat to the woods" late season areas was hit by major windstorms last spring which brought down tons of trees and re-routed the deer...

How cold is too cold
Our deer season in Michigan extends thru 01January on private land. We've had weather as cold as current (1F) before in December. WHich brings to mind the question: How cold is too cold to shoot an Excalibur? Those limbs will get more brittle at extremely cold temps. Does Excalibur have a "do n...

Thanks everyone! Will contact Excalibur. Have a Matrix 380 with limb issue, so this will be a two-fer.

C2 crank hook broke
Just that. Are hooks available separately, or do I have to buy a charger rope and cannibalize it? It's used to charge my Suppressor 400TD. Surprised it would crack after <100 shots.

Re: How do you keep your feet warm?
Hands & feet get cold when your core temp is challenged and your body reduces circulation to the extremities. Remember, 100% of your blood flows thru the kidneys. I sewed two small pockets at the kidneys on my thermals and place handwarmers in there. Hardly ever been cold or experienced cold fin...

Re: Matrix question
For a back up bow I would look on Crags list or Ebay for a used Matrix. ^^^ THAT ^^^ I have a Matrix 355 and bought a Matrix 380 as backup on Craigslist. Liked it so much that I now have THREE Matrix 380's  Hi, my name is Bob. EDIT: I just checked Craigslist in Detroit and there are several ...

Re: Excalibur Brown Bear
Guy selling Brown Bear confirmed it's 175# draw. But, no REDS suppressors. Can those be retrofit, or would I have to swap risers?

Re: Excalibur Brown Bear
Dunno Boo. Found it on Craigslist and considering purchase, but only if lower draw weight. 175# should be manageable, but not 225# (which would be the 350fps you indicated). Guess I'll hold out for a used Exocet, Vixen, Ibex, etc. Any recommendations for low draw weight Excal for yutes? Stock length...

Excalibur Brown Bear
Looking for a used, wide limb Excal for Christmas gift for my 11yo goddaughter. Ran across a "brown bear" model. Any details on it? Is it just an Axiom with different looks? If it is the Axiom, thinking this is about the best starting place for an 11yo. Don't recall Excalibur made anything...

Re: Excalibur Beacon Illuminated Nock
I bought two sets of 3/$21 lighted nocks and they doubled my order free. 3 out of 12 didn't work at all. Didn't waste my time risking them in the field and am out $42 :x Sticking with Lumenocks. Or, perhaps changing over to these new Beacons. ....curious as to what brand?.....and YES, STICK to Lumm...

Re: 16.5" Bolt Shooters - how are you getting the weight up?
My 16.5" BEEs tip scales around 442gr with 150gr broadheads. Spynal Tapps (as part of a xbow package buy last year) wear the same 150gr heads and come in around 462gr. Nothing heavier needed for whitetails up to 30 yards.

Re: Looking for Broadhead Target
I've got my own home made. 24 beer can box, HARDcover book against backside, with lotsa densely stuffed jeans/cotton rags in front. Targets are 8.5x11 paper with orange dot placed in front of center of hardcover. Set it up on a stump or anything which will allow it to get knocked over by the inertia...
