Re: Exomax vs Exocet 200
Actually the thumbhole version of the Exomax is the Equinox. The Exomag is the predecessor to the Exomax. It had the same length/power stroke but had a straight riser giving it 200# draw weight. The Exomax (and other later) models had their riser's forward swept an inch to add an additional 25# of d...

Ramcat Savage Broadhead
Anyone know if these will stay closed out of a 380/405?? Currently using the regular Ramcats, but like the idea of closed blades for my youngest(now 15) and hunting in his own stand 500 yards away. Supposedly they have 3 grooves for the O-ring, an actual heavy O-ring not rubber band)and the furthest...

Re: 308 short banshee
The heavier the better with those short arrows if you're running Blazers(or similarly stiff vanes). Just a theory I have but I believe stiff vanes reduce penetration somewhat by requiring more force to pass through hide and flesh than other Vane options. With the faster bows shooting longer arrows o...

Re: Matrix bulldog 380
Or you could do as I did and put a Vixen 2 stock on a Regular Matrix 380 to get the shorter LOP, shave some weight and make it even more balanced.. I also did the same thing with a 405. I simply despise Thumbhole stocks. They weigh more, and require too much movement to turn off the safety. That was...

Re: Coyote off the Couch
Nice.. I call them day and night and usually use .243 or 25-06 but have a .308 Pump I use inside open timber. 12ga w # 4 Buck in real tight cover. I worked up 110 Vmax @3350fps load and am just waiting for them to finish dropping their puppies before I resume after my break I take each March/April.....

Re: Vixen with Matrix Limbs possible?
I just ended up trading for a Matrix 380 and putting a Vixen2 stock on it. Shoots 360fps with 442gr arrow and drills bulls out to 50 yds. Has the stock I like now with more speed. All without ruining a Vixen rail. This bow is short light and and above all balanced to make the perfect compromise betw...

Re: Vixen with Matrix Limbs possible?
hhhmmmm! I'll pass. everything I got shoots just fine. Good for you...I personally think thumbhole stocks require too much movement to turn safety off/on but "sexy sells" just like speed. If the company only offers what sells (aka sexy/fast)..then I guess guys like me have to resort to cu...

Re: Best Stock Excal Ever?
I personally hate thumbhole stocks and have converted most of the Excals I've owned over to use the Vixen 2 Traditional style stock. Safety can be manipulated silently without moving anything more than your thumb. I don't have to look or feel for it..it's just right there and goes up without any noi...

Re: Vixen with Matrix Limbs possible?
I ended up just putting a Vixen 2 stock(drill and tap a couple holes) on a Matrix 380 I just traded for. It feels balanced but I will have to rely upon the crank as it's simply too much for me in my condition nowadays..
Looking forward to testing out this Hybrid as I've never owned a Matrix series..

Re: Fixed blade broadheads
Ramcat 100's & 125's are the best flying Fixed head made. I've taken around 6 deer now with them in my slower bows(Vixen2/Micro 308) and all have had pass throughs with great blood trails proportional to shot placement. No broken blades but tips on the 125grainers will curl or bend when hitting ...

Re: Throwing in the Towel
I've done that for years..I bought brown towels years ago to identify them as mine and wash them with my hunting clothes every 3rd day throughout the season. Another one many overlook is brushing your teeth with baking soda, using unscented anti=perspirant.
