Large Southern Ontario Whitetail...nightmare recovery.

My son and I have spent many days in the field after whitetail in Southern Ontario this fall. We recently started hunting an old overgrown orchard on unused farmland in an area close to home. At 62 I don't have the energy and stamina for the cold weather hunting my son does (he's 34). Yesterday afte...

Re: please delete.

I had no intention of ticking someone off. I just made a comment about the timing. Having hunted for 42 years with good success, I'm sure that Ken with his knowledge and experience could give me some tips and pointers to enhance my hunting experience. For me, personally, an opportunity to attend a s...

Re: Cabela's deer hunting seminar.

Why would they hold it the last day of the season in most WMUs in Ontario?
I would think it would be better attended a few days or week before the main deer season. JMHO

Re: Question for Micro 335 experts

The rubber part of the airbrake is missing on the one side. I'm glad I noticed it as I was hunting and there were deer around me. I'm sure it would have damaged the limb had I fired it.
So I'm home and removed the airbrake on both sides.
Will it damage the bow or limbs to use it with them removed?

Question for Micro 335 experts

I had an issue with my Micro 335 that resulted in new limbs and a modified riser being installed. Great service from Excal. HOWEVER, I was out there hunting tonight and noticed that one of the dissapator pads was missing on my Micro. I had just seen a nice 6 point buck and fortunately in came throug...

Re: Ladder stand installed

Hey, we all get older. Hope your luck is good. I'm 62 and I've cut back from ladderstands on nice days to ground tents on crappy days. Happy hunting....I'm just happy I can still get out there!

Re: Hunting Camera

I use the shot track. Bought it for $120 USD from Dick's last winter. The one I have has a laser for sighting it. It uses a micro sd card. It attaches by a picatinney rail. It only weighs about 4 ounces. I put it on the side of my scope with another set of rings and I really don't notice it when hun...

Nice heavy 5 pointer. That'll make some nice eating. Congrats on your first bow deer. :)

Re: Grunting for Deer

I had a nice 8 point buck that was walking past me at about 80 yards one morning. It appeared he was travelling back to where he bedded for the day. There was no way I was going to get him within range so a gave a couple a short low grunts. He stopped and looked in my direction but started walking t...
