It is unfortunate that most broadhead manufacturers only make stainless steel blades anymore. I have lost arrows and bolts in fields before and have found a few that others had lost. A carbon steel blade will rust away fairly quckly and render the lost head much less of a threat to tires people or a...

At this time of year the deer become less active. Deer do not eat as much and will travel less distance if possible. During cold weather they will eat at noon or a bit after. This is because they do not like frozen food. At noon the sun warms the food up a bit and the deer prefer this. It can be ver...

Called this guy in from 200 yards away on Nov 4 / 05. Double lung at 9 yards. He ran 220 yards. The interesting thing is the evidence of a bolt or arrow that had passed completely through the deers chest in a previous year. Blades must have been dull or something because it should have hit some lung...

Try to find a single phase motor of the same hp and go to it. A dryer outlet is 220 volt but is single phase, so don't take that route. One caveat is that a single phase motor will be larger in physical size than a 3 phase, so make sure it will fit before laying out the cash. Try a motor supply/repa...

The risk of contracting a TSE disease from eating beef in Canada is almost zero. The risk is insignificant from deer as well, if the spinal cord, brain and ganglia are not consumed. My job is HACCP coordinator in a feed processing plant and part of my job is to assess risk and design and implement s...
