Thank you all for the quick response. Looks like I will take the rifled shotgun with me to moose camp. Remington had/has a special on the rifled barrels with a 2X7 32mm scope. It was 60 dollars less at my local hunting store then the price that I got quoted at BP! All the stars aligned for this seas...

Good evening. I just purchased a cantilever rifled shotgun barrel and scope for my 870. Was thinking of taking it for the moose hunt next week. I'm going to pick up a couple box's of of the new slugs that they recommend and see how it groups. I still have my old faithful bush gun but thought that I ...

The corn and bean fields have not been cut down yet. Have seen some in the hay fields. Didn't hear anybody shooting on the river in the past 2 mornings. The geese are slowly arriving.

I understand about the seasons. We are not going to use any deer based attractants until deer season opens. In the past we have already found out that c'mere deer didn't have any results for us, either does blue or brown mineral/salt licks. What they do like out my way is the flavored licks from TSC...

I have had really bad luck with the Block. 3 practice montec heads and 2 broad heads are buried deep in side. They and the inserts stayed inside when I went to retrieve them. Had to replace 5 bolts and my block looks like a grenade went off in it,

scents and trail cameras

Not sure if this has been tried before on this forum. A few buddies that have trail cameras set up in the area and I are going to each place ONE Brand of attractant out in front of our respective trail cameras and see what will actually bring them in. I'm trying the doe urine buck bomb. One remote c...

I use them and like them. I also recieved the black "training" heads as a gift but was not very happy with them. The first time I fired the training heads into my block target the heads/insert stayed buried deep inside the block. Im going to have to cut the block apart to recover them. Fro...

Here are the pics of my modified harness. I made them with a old military A7A strap. I sewed them on a machine and used shoe goop. Had these ones for 15 years and use them almost everyday when the snow deaoth calls for it. http://s33.photobucket.com/albums/d94/Butch23/th http://s33.photobucket.com/a...

If the NV is capable of being mounted on a shotgun/rifle it will be good to go on a crossbow. If there is a warranty question with the manufacture, ask his boss if he would be interested in some research and development for marketing purposes. Ive seen compaines do this before. They don't build NV t...

Go to a Canadian army surplus store and get a pair of issued ones, I snowshoe every am and have had a chance to trial many styles during my 15 year carrier in the infantry. My only complant is with the bindings. This can be easily fixed. (I can send you a pic). The issue snow shoes are quiet, built ...
