Re: piebald deer

Funny how they have shorter legs than other deer.

Re: China Green Lighted to Drill For Oil in Canadian Waters

Wow, that’s freaking unbelievable! Given China’s great respect for the environment <sarcasm>, what could possibly go wrong?

Plus, isn’t the east coast of Canada where the famous cod fisheries are?

Re: Patterned

I hunt a small 5-acre woodlot one week every year in the exurbs of a city in Ohio. My situation is not quite as bad as yours sounds, but I encounter the same problem. What’s worked for me is to only hunt it during the chasing phase of the rut. During that time I can get a parade of testosterone-blin...

Re: Every hunter needs a special knife.

Unfortunately I can’t really see them because the dang pop-up screen obscures 80% of the webpage, and there’s no way to make it go away.

Montreal Massacre

Interesting article. I’d never heard of this massacre, but I’m guessing most Canadians know about it. Hard to believe all those young men just passively let all their female classmates be gunned down like that:

Re: Washing camo

I use a scoop of TSP (trisodium phosphate) and a scoop of baking soda.

The TSP is cheap and odorless, and good at removing oils (like human sweat oils), and the baking soda deodorizes.

Re: YOU'VE DONE IT NOW CANADA

Not that we in the US are in a position to cast any stones, but seriously, what would a Canadian politician have to do to get thrown out of office?

Re: Dead doe but a weird shot!

Were you using a two-blade broadhead?

I’ve had that happen with two-blade heads, but never 3 or 4-blade heads.

Re: Med body, small rack 8, bizarre twist - literally

Like Doemaster said, they can move faster than Keneau Reeves in the Matrix. I once shot a doe at a mere 8 yards with my Exocet. She ran maybe 60-70 and piled up within sight. Congratulating myself on a perfect double-lung shot, I walked over to her—only to find that the arrow had sliced through the ...

Re: Dental band breakdowns

Those are latex dental rings. Latex is easily degraded by chemicals (like if you spray your broadheads with WD40), ozone (are you using one of those Ozonics odor killers?), and UV (sunlight). A more durable alternative would be silicone dental rings. You can buy a pack of them on Amazon for $9 in an...

Re: Rail lube or silicone clean

Funny, nearly twenty years ago when I bought me Exocet, it came with a small plastic container of “Excalibur String & Deck Wax”. The instructions said to rub the wax on the rail, which I dutifully did. The thing was, this wax seemed rather sticky, not slippery. And when I fired off an arrow, sparks ...
