I shot six 2216's and six 2219's with the mount in place and all arrows grouped perfectly. I shot at 20 and 30 yards and held two inch groups. (was shooting off-hand so that’s the best I can do) I noticed nothing out of the ordinary and if anything, it actually might have reduced the noise level! Pe...

I have always been aware that the string travels onto the shelf of the riser on my old exocet. I could always see the wax and the green color from my seving on the shelf. I will shoot several arrows of various weights later today and let you know my findings regarding arrow groupings, noise and poss...

Groundpounder mount on old style cast exocet riser.

Here are three pictures of my cast riser exocet with the groundpounder mount. Todd was nice enough to create two adapters for me as you can see in the close up photo. This is really slick. I ride a honda foreman to a lot of my hunting sites and I have the yoke style gun holders and now my exocet fit...

:) I sure wish we would do that in TENNESSEE. Curmudgeon, TN is one of the southern states I was referring to. I have good friends that live and hunt TN and they constantly complain about the quality and size of the bucks available. TN is a multi-buck state and it is (in my opinion) being mismanage...

Pulling the trigger is kind of anti-climatic anyway. The hunt is the most fun. YOU GOT IT! Way to go! The intrinsic feeling one gets when you know you could have killed a nice buck but let him walk to become a bigger better buck for next year is right up there with actually putting an arrow through...

We have seen some great deer in our Imperial Whitetail Clover field at our farm in Adams County. We are not very far from where this buck was killed. We have forty acres of the clover surrounded on three sides by 70 acres of beans. The other edge of the clover field adjoins our woods. The genetics h...

I'm 60 years old, don’t run near as fast as I used to and can't climb a tree and set a speed record. I also have a five inch scar on my right butt cheek courtesy of a 280 pounder. It sounds funny now, but at the time I received it, it was anything but funny. In my youth I hunted them with recurve, h...

Ambidextrous?

Ambidextrous? I am curious. How many of you shoot your crossbow right-handed and left-handed? I practice this way all the time and have been shooting my old exocet this way for years. I now shoot both ways with equal results in the target. The reason I do this is simple. I want 180 degree range with...

I also failed to read that this mount was only for the newer riser and like Brampton Mike, mine will not fit my bow. But all is not lost, I now have incentive to acquire a new exocet! I will keep my old exocet as my back up and start the search for the best place (price) to order my new exocet 200. ...

I have both the summit and the timbertall (and several others) and without a doubt l like the timbertall. If you are going to be packing any distance, the timbertall is worth the extra money due to the low weight. I also like the adjustment feature of the timbertall to compensate for the taper of tr...

I use a viper (amongst others) but I do not use the gun rest.

Just my two cents worth, I think it gets in the way.

I hope you had him mounted. Yes, I am having him mounted. The taxidermist I use has never mounted a deer with this phenomenon and he is very excited about the prospect. He wants to feature the buck in such a manner that the mane is visible and prevalent. He has offered the mounting of this deer at ...

The Mohawk Buck

Has anyone ever killed a whitetail buck with a mane? Take a look at the pics below. I killed this buck about a month ago and have been looking at various sites at pictures of bucks to see if any have a mane and I cant find one. Do you think this is unique to this deer or have you seen others? You ca...

We have seen some monsters in our Imperial Whitetail Clover field. We have 60 acres we put it three years ago and it is paying dividends. Our farm is about ten miles from West Union and borders a tributrary of Brush Creek. I just put my Clermont County buck in the trophy room. Ohio, no longer a secr...
