I have a WTB ad on the trading forum (for a bow sight) and a member here (who I never met before) happened to see one at a gun show, thought of me and picked it up.
So a big thank you to Munch, hope you have a great turkey season TC

Re: ground blinds
I watch a fair number of hunting shows and I know a lot of it is "Hollywood" stuff but you do pick up tips once in a while. One tip I picked up was that deer are not too bothered by blinds as long as they can first see them from a fair distance (like 100yds or so). They get spooked if they...

A Deer With Fangs???
I've done a bunch of european mounts but I've never seen this before!
I'll probably talk to a MNR biologist about it just for curiousity. TC

Re: Day Pack
Check out armynavydeals.ca for a variety of packs. I would tell you which one I use as I am extremely happy with it but they don't make the particular model any more. TC

Re: Can anybody identify this treestand?
I saw that same stand in Forest City Surplus in london, ON this year. If it weren't for the fact I don't have any spare cash right now I would have bought one. They are pretty reasonable but fairly heavy. The store the Pink Panther mentioned might be the Sportsmans Guide, they carry a lot of hunting...

Re: Warm boots?
The warmest boots I own are Sorel Icefishers. Again not the best for long hikes but very warm. The most supprisingly warm boots I own are a pair of plain rubber boots that are 2 sizes too large. I got them very cheap at a going out of business sale. I wear two pairs of wool socks with them and I am ...

Re: Climbing Tree Stands Part I
I have owned an Ol'Man climber for many years but didn't use it much mostly due to the uncomfortable backpack straps. This year I bought an A.L.I.C.E. pack frame and attached the stand to it (I remove it when I climb the tree). I wish I had thought of that years ago! I really like using the climber ...

Re: Trail-Cam Suggestions?
I have 2 of the wildview cameras which I have had for about a year. I have had no problems with mine. I got the pair for $100.00 from Can-Tire on sale. If you want some good comparisons check out chasingame .com. They do independent tests on a variety of cameras. TC

Help Identify This Species
I don't know which species these are but I hope there are lots more of them :D . http://i814.photobucket.com/albums/zz70/trkychsr57/TrailCam1Fishers116.jpg Lessons to be learned: 1: There are still honest (in this case young, honest) people around. I had my camera (cheap one but still), battery pack...

Re: foc
how do you check the foc??????????????? Balance the bolt on a something like the edge of a ruler and measure from that point to the tip. The balance point shoud be more towards the front of the bolt rather than right in the middle. This distance is the FOC. I found my bolts (Gold Tip LazerII) did n...
