Re: Skin tumor

I can't see your picture, but your description is something that I am familiar with. I forget what it is called but it has no connection into the meat. All the meat is safe. When we first came upon this, we took the deer straight into a MNR office and their biologist came out and inpected the deer. ...

Re: scent free vs. cover scent

A few years ago, I participated in a "artificial scent study" using trail cameras. Once every 2 to 3 weeks we were supplied with different scents to be placed in front of trail cameras, 10 to 15 yards off known well used trails. You would be surprised at the conclusion from that study. Everytime a n...

Re: Motivation??

What drives you to get up so early and go out in the cold to hunt deer? For me it's the chance I may see that big buck I got a picture of on a trail camera. Oh and if I sleep in I always feel guilty for not getting up for the hunt. It's a curse I guess. Bill Back when I was hunting, it was the piec...

Re: Blind heater

I use my Big Buddy propane heater is my blind. I have a 4 man blind which is huge and that heater keeps it warm enough to sit comfortably in the coldest winter that Wisconsin can dish out! I use the conversion kit with a 6 ft hose and connect to a 30# tank that sits outside of my blind. It usually ...

Re: Hunting In The Rain

I was hunting in a light rain this morning and realized that I have never shot my crossbow in the rain so I was wondering how having wet bolts or water droplets on my rail could affect my shot? At a distance of 30/40 yards would wetness on the bolts and rail impact how the bolt would fly and potent...

Re: Small hand held GPS

I have 2 units. A very old Lawrence and a Garmin Dakota 20. The Garmin is about 6 or 7 years old. I really like this unit. It operates on AAx2 and I would say that I would get 20 hours of continuous use, longer if you use it sporadically. It has a micro memory slot and ability to use maps, log your ...

Re: Bow Accident, What Next?

I noticed that the Quill arrows on the Axe had Black Eagle on their decal. The Quills that came with my 355 were made by Easton. Are the Black Eagle Quills the norm now? I’d feel a lot more excited about the bow if I knew I could buy factory Excal arrows that were made by Black Eagle instead of Eas...

Re: Bow Accident, What Next?

............... bought this Micro 355. It shot the Quills pretty darn good, but I wanted to shoot a 100gr head while still having 150gr FOC so I ordered the Spynal Tapp arrows with inserts and those things were wickedly accurate in my 355. So really I just want a bow that shoots just like what I ha...

Re: Bow Accident, What Next?

I would call them and at least get an estimate of the repair. But I would send the bow in so they could go over it if it is going to be repaired. Hate to end up with damaged trigger or bent barrel or something. CHEERS! If the repair quote is close to the price of a new bow, I would purchase the new...

Re: Deer cart upgrade

Who's gonna be the first to rig an electric motor to it so you can ride it in and out? I had already had that thought go through my mind. It would not be too difficult to achieve. They even have after market electric assist motors. But, if anyone does decide to do this, make sure that the area you ...

Re: Deer cart upgrade

I would especially love to play with Bella and the 'safety sleeve'. I think we'd both love that....to be extra cautious, and since the cameras will be rolling, I must insist Tom wears the Boofest Robe...to look more professional. :eusa-dance: Paul Paul, you know as much as everyone else, I "DON'T" ...
