Re: mechanical broad heads
The entry hole with a mechanical will always be smaller. But your exit should be full size. A blood trail can be very different depending on the situation. Shots from elevation with the exit hole lower usually gives a better blood trail. Shots from the ground (parallel) has the exit and entry holes...

Re: Our awesome forum
I really dont go to other hunting forums because this one basically holds all of my interest. I recently joined a fishing forum and was really surprised at the kid like behavior of adults. If was basically a pissing contest of adults constantly touting their fishing credentials. I wont go into deta...

Re: Bore Sighting
Not that these are bad ideas, completely to the contrary, but how often are you guys sighting in bows that need more than a couple clicks regardless of it being boresighted or not. The only bow I have ever assembled and not had hit within 2 clicks at 15 yards was my Axe... And that's cause the scop...

Re: Renewing Outdoor Card Hunting / Fishing when turning 65
I am not sure how it applies to today. In the past, for my dad (birthday July) we renewed the card but did not purchase the fishing license part of it, just the hunting part. But remember, if you do this, you will not have a fishing license and only after you turn 65 will you be allowed to fish. If ...

Re: Morning or afternoon hunts
I prefer morning hunts, but in my last years hunting, I had limited hunting areas and the areas dictated how I hunted them. Not every location premitted me the chance to sneak in not detected for mornings, and some areas I couldn't access undetected for the evening.

Re: Just wondering
I have seen what you are discribing many times .......
If you look closely, if it is the same, it will look like they are jumping for movement. I was told that they were "snow fleas", not sure if that is accurate or not.

Re: Suppressor 400 speed
It isn't available yet. I’ve been seeing them listed for sale, so at least some places have them already. I’m just waiting on user reports I could be wrong on that. I see some places have them in stock in their online catalogs. I'm not buying one. I'm not buying one. I'm not buying one. I'm not buy...

Re: BC Proposal to BAN Scopes on Crossbows
Ya I don't get it . If your only reason is that a scope makes it more efficient at making a killing shot and all that matters is making a good shot then we should all be hunting with modern firearms as they are the most efficient. Bow seaon is not about using more and more efficient weapons or thei...

Re: BC Proposal to BAN Scopes on Crossbows
Well then we should all be using scoped rifles if efficiency is all that matters. Sorry ...... but I feel that you are being totally ridiculous. A scoped rifle should give you 1/2" groups at 100 yards while a scoped cossbow is about 1/2" at 30 yards. Your target on an animal is about 5-7&...

Re: BC Proposal to BAN Scopes on Crossbows
I don't disagree that scopes make the weapon more accurate whether that means less wounding or not thats just an opinion. The issue for me is that as more and more technology is added to the crossbow yes it gets easier and more efficient to use. I honestly don't see this as good for its continued u...

Re: BC Proposal to BAN Scopes on Crossbows
I'm not sure how you can just make a blanket statement that it will increase wounding and loss rates . My problem with scopes is that they give certain people a believe that they can take shots they shouldn't and yes does make them more efficient in bow season. I have friends that bought crossbows ...

Re: Re living the shot
I agree, the memories are a trophy all their own This above quote is spot on. Years ago, my family ran a very busy fishing charter business in Lake Ontario. I don't remember how many times I was asked " would you mount that fish". I had always replied that was an unfair question as I had ...
