I've often wondered why some sharpen with sharpening stones/diamond stones and some guys just use a file? Can some one enlighten me on this?

Blazers with a right hand helical. They are much more durable than anything else I've used and clearance on an Excal is good. Theres a guy I know that hunts hogs and even uses knives. I'll see if he can help you out. His name is Mike or Smokepole. He's a really cool guy, lots of experience.

Untill you get a serving tool and serving material you might want to try to use some of the new fishing lines like spiderwire or whatever. Looking at my serving tools make me think you can probably make your own serving tool pretty easily.
