Now it's just the count down. First and foremost I like to put meat in the freezer. The antlers come second. Mmmmm...I can taste the marinaded tenderloin now. My wife and I put 3 in the freezer last fall. Over the long weekend we cooked the last tenderloins over campfire coals paired with fine Auss...

What ever you do don't leave it hanging out of any pocket for quick access. During a moose hunt two years ago the bush kept it after I thought it might be a great idea to leave it hanging out of a fanny pack pocket for fast access if I needed it

Got mine today too...82a I've been shooting groudhogs in that area for 10 years and have been asking landowners for permission for archery deer. To my surprise all of them said "help yourself". Some landowners have family or friends hunting the firearm season, but archery/blackpowder is my...

I probably should add that i've never shot from a rest since the day i bougth it, and had the scope sigthed in at the bass pro shop. Ever since that day it's been free hand, and at 20-30 yds i'm afraid of shotting at the same spot. :D I like to shoot off a bench at the beginning and during the deer...

I live in Windsor too, and have been hunting area 92 for 20 years. Trying to get permission in 94 was difficult to say the least. Lucky me to have about 12 bushlots in 92 to hunt...I bring the landowners small gifts ever year...it helps.

Thanks for the tips and info. Once I made a good hit on a nice buck near last legal light, one gut feeling said "get the lantern and find him" and the other feeling said "wait till morning". Well, first thing in the morning we found him about 85 yards from the shot, however the c...

This is what I did. I'm not suggesting to others that they do the same but it works reliably and cost me nothing...well sort of. I purchased the new Max for my wife but wanted one too after comparing it to my much older carved tip Exocet which was starting to split the limbs. Excalibur replaced the ...

Last year I tripple banded them out of my wifes Max...one stands back in "AWE" after skinning ones deer and admiring the 2" x 2" excut through the ribcage of a deer. I've used the 108 gr 4 blade with 2" x 2" cut for many years putting them through 8 or 9 deer, none went...

Ryan, The hunt codes came from a info letter mailed from the Ministry a few weeks ago, the codes are not in the Regs. book. The way I understand it, they only mail you "additional hunt tags letter" if you have applied in a controlled hunt/additional tags in the past. Perhaps look on their ...

Dad and I both tried Powerbelts in our T/C Omega / Encore and got TERRIBLE groups with two different bullet weights, off a bench rest with 777 powder. We found T/C Shockwave/made by Hornady(SST) gave the best accuracy. We settled in on the 200 gr for deer. I will test the Dead Center Bullets this se...
