Re: In Training

"With 13 miles of aisles and 2,300 registered booths we decided on new footwear each and spent the last few weeks on the Stairmaster climber between 25 and 40 minutes a day to prepare ourselves for all the walking." A pessimistic cynic would say that your wife keeps you on one heck of a short leash...

In Training

I notice Excalibur has a booth at the 2020 SHOT SHOW IN VEGAS this week. Attending the SHOT SHOW has been on my bucket list ever since bucket lists were created and probably longer, my goal was to one day attend. Patti and I fly down in the morning to attend and make my wish come true. With 13 miles...

Re: Recommend Me A Replacement Scope for my Exocet 200

Now that Nikon ain’t making scopes anymore, the only scope to have is the Trijicon, the rest are junk. Yessir, Nikon is no longer making scopes. If you wait, I bet some deals will be had later on. On another note to Ferguson Outfitters,I recently added my first Trijicon optic to my crossbow and cho...

Re: Just when I thought I didn't need another bow!

Paul, I remember all your earlier posts regarding Premier's craftsmanship and excellent workmanship. Awshucks and Danny M also spoke highly of them also back in the day. Perhaps one day another start up company in the US might offer a similar service. Till then we have what we have. On anothet note,...

Re: Just when I thought I didn't need another bow!

I bet “Aging” could fab a stock for you. Use your own Excal for it. Just a thought. Also, what scope is that? Just curious. Chalk another one up to the Germans. Blackie contacted a German custom scope maker to fabricate this one off custom scope to compliment this beauty. This is not the first time...

Nothing is 100% and deflection CAN happen in Archery hunting regardless of broadhead type used.

Re: Just when I thought I didn't need another bow!

The German silver anodized finish was matt.
The ATA interior lighting and camera flash altered the finish somewhat.

Re: Just when I thought I didn't need another bow!

This Custom Excalibur was brought to the ATA by Blackie from TOP HAT Archery Points out of Germany. Their precision points and inserts are highly recognized in the Archery industry. In Germany the original anodizing on the mainframe and riser was removed and re anodized a brilliant silver. The custo...

Re: Busted/Broke Swhacker 150g Broadhead.

Obviously from the top photo right side you can see elongation of the inside insert indicating extreme stress in that direction . The deer's reaction to the hit put extreme sidways pressure on the Swacker BH causing the failure as seen. A prior small stress fracture would cause a week point and even...

Re: Busted/Broke Swhacker 150g Broadhead.

The way I sse it a prior stress on the insert after being hammered into targets could have potentially developed a stress crack on the insert.

Nothing is 100 %.

I have experienced the same type of failure back in the early 2000's one time.
