Re: shooting targets with broadheads

I have found that the Fusion block target will hold up very well to broadheads and very easy to remove. You will have to resharpen the BH after testing and practice. But there is no other way to test your broadhead arrows for hunting that I know of. I just did a test this AM. Used Gold Tip Lazere II...

Re: I've Officially "Crossed" Over!

Congrats, you will shoot carbon arrows in tight groups out to 30 yards with pep sight. My Phoenix loves Cabon GT Lazer II with real feathers 125 gr. ...mine have screw type inserts as nocks. I bought a tool that will screw into the nock so you can pull the arrow out of foam targets......makes shootin...

Bow String

I 've had my Phoenix about two years. I use the optional fast flight string. Just for kicks I installed the standard Excalibur bow string.I wanted to see how it performed versus FF string. Well I had trouble getting it on bow. I reduced the stringer length to put more bend in bow .....now it fits bu...

Re: aluminum vs. carbon

I have shot aluminum and Carbon arrows with Excalibur 175# Phoenix. The Carbon will produce smaller groups. I think the reason bolts are large diameter is to give strength to shaft because of power in bow and extra fast starts when bow is shot. You also need a large shaft to hold the string. If not ...

Re: serving life before breaking

I wax serving because the Excalibur video instructions instructed me to do just that. I believe those instructions are on this web site...check 'em out.
With waxing the serving will wear but it takes many shots. You can also turn the
whole string 180 degrees for more life.

Re: STRING JUMPING DEER

Last Sat.I shot at a buck 40 yards with a compound bow.The deer turned to run just as arrow went buy, light poundage speed 215 fps.I feel that my Phoenix at 288fps would have hit that buck. One thing I have discovered about crossbows is the arrow drops after 30-35 yds ....I can hit foam by holding o...

I agree, the heavy foot pounds of KE.....70"s for my Phoenix, really
dictate strong arrows and broadheads. Most fixed are .040 thick.

gravity only works on objects in the horizontal plane, so the distance for an aiming reference is the distance from the base of your stand to the target assuming that your stand is not on the side of a steep hill and the deer etc. is not significantly below that level. so if target is 15 yard from ...

I had same problems with STS. When I bought new ones it was a bother and $6.00 each. One day at range a fellow shot Excalibur without STS and it made same amount of noise as mine with.........soooooo I removed STS . Now bow is lighter and makes noise and I don't have the rubber stopper problem. By t...

Noise

Kucky Strike,I have found that much of the noise comes from trigger.
When I uncock the bow after hunting I hear the loud crack of the trigger.
I have a Phoenix also.

Hunter, deer hunting is not like playing tennis, riding a bike, jogging. Deer
hunting is not done very often so when you get your chance to make a shot
do you want cheap equipment or do you want the best chance available
with the best equipment. Don't cheat yourself spend the bucks have
fun....kill deer.

I bought STS with Xbow from Wyvern Creations.

How does one keep foam from interfering with arrow flight?

HW,I have had the same experience with those arrows. I shoot better groups with Gold tip Lazer II using Phoenix open sight.
