That was way too funny. Really. In western Canada (Manitoba/Saskatchewan) where I grew up its pretty cold in November. The idea is to gut your deer as quick as possible to clean it before evrything freezes. Mostly so your hands are warm enough at the end so that when you wash them in the snow and ja...

I've got a couple plumbers, with a big cube van in my driveway, a contractor and a guy painting. The gas fitter and electrician were last week. I'm suffering from renovation stress. Somehow one of the the freezers wasn't working, so they all had "take home" venison.

I aggree that the bow is front heavy, but I believe the only way to correct that is to add more weight which I would not like. The stock is annoyingly noisy which could use some improvement, something economical. Would love a rubberized feel as peviously described, maybe a forestock that extends to ...

I used one of those heat type scopes one night that the local authorities owned. It had a geat deal of magnification. You could see someone sitting in their car 500 yds away with a cup of coffee in their lap, in the dark behind brush. Or a moving vehicle further away, see exactly how many people wer...

Well, I bought one of those Gerber lights, because I lost an animal in the dark this year. Found it 2 months later. It wasn't really worth the tag at that point. As well the yotes were so bad this year, that in the hour and a half it took to recover another one, they ate about 10 lbs off the 200 lb ...

I gotta get in on this one. I was fortunate enough to spend some early retirement time (thats when you act like you're retired before you enter the workforce) going to school studying all kinds of wierd stuff like human nature. One of my professors was very influential and I still think about alot a...

The deer this year have been amazingly healthy, so much so that the fat seems to clog the arrow wounds and stop a blood trail. The bucks however having been losing their antlers here since 2nd week of December. By mid December they all had lost them. We took four bucks without antlers and two with o...

That is amazing. I had a spine shot last year where the aluminum bolt lodged and bent. The energy transfer knocked the deer right of its feet.

I am fortunate enough to belong to a well organized group of about 20 guys. Normally this would guar·an·tee us 2 tags. This year you need 11 guys for a tag, up from 9, so we only get one tag. If we are successful, thats about 5 small packages of meat. Thats if you are successful and doing everything...

I live in Kanata and hunt up near Perth. There are lots of deer around. I got one with the bow and one with a rifle last year. It was my first year with the bow. The area near Perth we own specifically for deer. Planted food plots for the first time also last year. Amazing amount and size of deer yo...

Took a Glock instructor course. They did a demo for us to show how dependable the pistol was. We loaded every mag there was, can't remember how many thousands of rounds there were. There were 12 of us in the class, we each took 20 mags at a time (15 rounds per mag) and emptied them as fast as we cou...

This is really the only site I use. I don't post much but anytime I need to escape I find the reading quite interesting, better than TV. There always seems to be a well spoken expert with a worthwhile opinion nearby.
