Hope Darrel is recovering and doesn't have any setbacks!
I have a few of his knives and use them frequently.

Re: Been a long time since I have posted ...
Glad airguns aren't legal in Ohio (for deer), that would be another expensive method I'd have to try.
I'm with you on not being too excited about the newer models. I prefer the traditional stock design with where the safety is located on the Excalibur crossbows.

Re: The perfect crossbow scope reticle
I guess it depends on the shooter. For me the best reticle is a simple one. I use a duplex sighted in at 25 yards, the adjust the power until the duplex "posts" are on at 15 & 35 yards. Out to 30 yards (with MY setup of bow & arrows) a "center of the kill zone" hold...

Re: maybe something you can use
Got mine today (large one) and it fits the Phoenix just fine! Not complete coverage like a case would be, but it should keep rain/snow off the rail/riser/trigger unit & scope.
For a total investment of $10.60 I'm pleased with it!

Ordered one for my Phoenix. Looks like a good accessory to have handy on those days when rain or snow may hit.

Re: Lectured about energy .....
I have shot an Ibex at 25 yards, a ram at 20 yards, and two deer at 18 and 22 yards and all the arrows passed through and the animals didn't go very far. If the arrow passes completely through the animal it was traveling with sufficient energy. Any more energy is just going to bury it deeper in the...

Great minds must think alike! That's what we had for lunch today.
I did have shredded sharp cheddar cheese & hot sauce on mine (along with the chili & onions), though.

Re: Happy thanksgiving
Gun season opens here Monday, so I just stayed in and ate turkey today. After dinner the dog, 4 cats, and I piled on the bed for a nap (food coma).
