Re: Guardian ADF
I got some time and took a closer look at what Woodys did send. What they should have sent were an allen wrench, 4 screws to attach the device to the crossbow and a replacement screw for the bolt hold down spring. What they sent: 2 regular screws, 2 countersunk screws and an allen wrench. The 2 coun...

Re: Guardian ADF
This is a vent about Excalibur. If you don't wish to read something less than positive about Excalibur, then stoip right now. In the past 2 months I have had 2 less than good experiences with Excalibur. First I notriced what I considered excessive wear on the Pheonix stock due to the rope cocking ai...

Re: Guardian ADF
Give me a call, we can send you the correct screws and wrench for your ADF. It is possible they were missed when packaged here but either way we can help you out. 800-463-1817 Peter I'll see if that will be necessary. Hopefully not. I called and spoke directly to the nice lady at at fullthrottle th...

Re: Guardian ADF
Where did u order it from ? Archer FullThrottle. I don't like this, especially based on a single purchase, but I definitely would not recommend them to anybody. This whole episode could be a commedy of errors that they couldn't control, but somehow I don't think so. At the same time, I seriously do...

Re: Guardian ADF
That assumes that I have a rail already attached.racking up points wrote:I bought the basic scope rail a few weeks ago and it came with screws and an Allen wrench. But the screws you are removing from the old rail will fit the guardian if you saved them, and any old Allen wrench will work. Good luck

Guardian ADF
I'm mystified. I purchased the Excalibur Guardian ADF. It arrived and I attempted to mount the ADF on my Pheonix crossbow. According to the instructions, there should be mounting screws and a allen wrench included with the ADF in order to mount the ADF on the crossbow. The ADF shipped had NO allen w...

Getting an ADF
After my recent post about my dry fire, I have done a little more research and have thought about the matter a lot. I have decided to get and install the Excalibur Guardian ADF. My reasoning: while sitting in the blind or my tree stand, I have the xbow cocked, no bolt, safety on. I have learned the ...

Re: Cocking mechanism doesn't work after dryfire
you didn't say ...was the trigger bent? I could see nothing wrong with the trigger mechanism. Once removed from the rail, it worked flawlessly. The trigger itself is such a massive peice of metal, I personnally do not see how it could be bent. I am currently favoring the opinion that something got ...

Re: Cocking mechanism doesn't work after dryfire
I would prefer to not dmage the stock any further. Warranty or no warranty.awshucks wrote:Window, meet warranty. Bad move. Use a rope cocker instead......Also, I have decided to use the crankaroo to uncock the bow in the future.

Re: Cocking mechanism doesn't work after dryfire
Put a new rope on the rope cocking aid. Used a braided 3 mm Dyneema rope with a breaking strength over 400 lbs. Also, I spliced eye loops into the ends instead of using a knot. Knots weaken rope. A simple eye splice can retain almost 100% (between 95% and 99% depending on the splice) of the original...

Re: Cocking mechanism doesn't work after dryfire
Okay - took it apart. Took the bow off the rail (?) since that made it easier handling the thing. Then removed the stock. Then removed the trigger mechanism from the rail. Not what I expected. A solid block with the mechanism inside. Didn't want to take it further apart. In examining it I noticed th...

Re: Cocking mechanism doesn't work after dryfire
I've got the scope off. Don't think I have to remove the bow itself. I will take the stock off today to get a better look inside.
Will post about what I see. Sorry, unable to get pics - still no digital camera.

Re: Cocking mechanism doesn't work after dryfire
I am curious what is a accidental dryfire ? Either its a full dryfire or a partcial ? Accidental dryfire - I was using the rope cocking aid. Had the bow string within less than a 1/4" of latching when the rope broke. Hence, full, accidental dry fire. In fact, I think the latching mechanism may...

No digital camera. So unable to post pics. Shooting a whole roll of film just for 2 or 3 pics doesn't seem reasonable.xcaliber wrote:I'm with Strum on this, should not lock up, or break from a dry fire. Get us a good side view picture as large as possible, I think the puzzle needs one more piece here.
